what’s amazing about savak is that by all accounts it is a failed intelligence service that couldn’t even stop the revolution, they murdered hundreds of young leftists and students but couldn’t get key islamist figures (because the king was himself in kahoots w those losers). savak’s cultural involvement is also a failure because look at the films and books they banned, they let crazy islamist propaganda roam free but the films of people like Nasser Taghvaei were banned.

It is not believable to me that all of the hell we’ve been through has ended up at this dead end of just waiting to see if foreign forces will save us or not and even when you have nothing against Pahlavi but ask him, as someone whose name was screamed in these streets, to please if he may show a way through and out of this instead of just waiting and letting 50k people get tortured and subsequently executed you will be the bad guy. I don’t even fight back against the idea that he’s the last hope, he very well might be.
