Countable nouns are things that we can count, like one book, two pencils, or three friends. We use numbers and words like "a", "an", and "the" to talk about these kinds of nouns.
EXAMPLES:
Here are four complex sentences using countable nouns with the grammar targets **because**, **although**, **when**, and **if**:
1. We have five books because our teacher asked us to read one book each day for a week.
Note: [The use of "because" indicates the reason for having five books.]
2. Although we only have three pencils, we can still draw many pictures.
Note: [The use of "although" contrasts two ideas: having few pencils but still being able to draw.]
3. When it's time for recess, I will choose one ball and play soccer with my friends.
Note: [The use of "when" indicates a specific time or situation.]
4. If we have more crayons, we can make our drawings even brighter and more colorful.
Note: [The use of "if" indicates a hypothetical or possible situation.]
Q&A:
Q1: What do we use to talk about countable nouns, like "a book", "an apple", or "the dog"?
A: We use numbers and words like "a", "an", and "the".
Q2: Give an example of a sentence that uses the word "two" with a countable noun.
A: Two pencils are on the desk.

RULE REMINDER: Countable nouns are things we can count one by one. For example, if I have 5 apples in my bag, I can count each apple separately.
Yesterday, I went to the market with my friend Alemu. We saw many apples hanging from a tree. The fruit seller said, "I have five big red apples for you." Alemu asked, "How many small green apples do you have?" The seller replied, "I have three small green apples left."
Alemu and I bought two apples each: one big red and one small green. We were so happy to eat our favorite fruits.
1. How many apples did the fruit seller say he had in total?
2. If Alemu bought 2
STORY:
Abebe was excited to go to the market with his sister Blen and their teacher, Mrs. Tsehay. They saw many apples being sold by the vendors, and Abebe's eyes widened at the sight of so many juicy ones. Mrs. Tsehay asked them to count how many books were on a nearby stall, and they started counting one by one: "One book, two books, three books...". But when it was time to pay for their own purchases, Abebe realized that he had forgotten his wallet at home, leaving him with no money to buy the apples he wanted. Mrs. Tsehay helped them come up with a solution - they would ask Alemu's mother if she could lend them some money until next week. In the end, they were able to buy some delicious fruits, including Abebe's favorite oranges.

💡 Pro Tips
Countable nouns - things you can count
📅 Day 34 | Part 4/20 | @YWTutorial
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
ዛሬ ደንቡን ለዘለዓለም ለማስታወስ ሦስት ምክሮች አሉን።
ለምን?: Countable እና uncountable ስሞችን ካልለየን a/an ወይም -s ስህተት እናደርጋለን።
ደንቡ ይህ ነው፦
ስም = ሰዎች፣ ቦታዎች፣ ነገሮች
Proper noun = Capital ይጀምራል (Abebe, Ethiopia)
Common noun = አጠቃላይ ስም (city, book, teacher)
ልብ በሉ!: Proper nouns ሁልጊዜ Capital ይጀምራሉ — Abebe ✅ | Abebe ❌
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Countable nouns are things we can count one by one, like apples, pencils, and books.
For example: I have two apples in my lunchbox, but water is not something we can count because it's a liquid.
EXAMPLES:
EXAMPLE 1: Abebe has five pencils in his pencil case.
EXAMPLE 2: Blen has three books on her bookshelf that she wants to read tomorrow.
EXAMPLE 3: Dawit has seven crayons in his box, but he needs more for his art project.
Q&A:
Q1: What are some examples of countable nouns that we can see in our classroom?
ANSWER: Apples, pencils, and books.
Q2: Why is water an example of something we cannot count?
ANSWER: Because it's a liquid.

🏅 Mastery
Word order in English - Subject Verb Object
📅 Day 23 | Part 20/20 | @YWTutorial
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
ዛሬ የቀኑ የመጨረሻ ፈተና — ዛሬ ያጠናነውን ሁሉ ትፈትናለህ/ሽ!
ለምን?: ይህን ደንብ ማወቅ ትክክለኛ አረፍተ ነገር ለመስራት ይረዳናል።
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
NOTE: In English, we put the subject first, then the verb, and finally the object in a sentence. For example: "The cat chases the mouse."
COMMON MISTAKES:
EXAMPLE 1:
Abebe eats an apple.
In this sentence, "Abebe" is the subject (the person doing the action), "eats" is the verb (the action being done), and "an apple" is the object (the thing that is eaten).
EXAMPLE 2:
Blen reads a book.
Here, "Blen" is the subject, "reads" is the verb, and "a book" is the object.
EXAMPLE 3:
Dawit gives his sister a toy.
In this sentence, "Dawit" is the subject, "gives" is the verb, and "his sister a toy" is the object (where "his sister" is also an indirect object).
