مسلمانوں کے لیے نئے سال کے موقع پر مبارکباد دینا جائز نہیں اور نہ ہی ان کے لیے اسے منانا جائز ہے۔ ان دونوں امور میں غیر مسلموں کی تقلید شامل ہے اور ہمیں اس سے منع کیا گیا ہے۔ 📌 رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جس نے کسی قوم کی مشابہت اختیار کی وہ انہی میں سے ہے۔ (سنن ابی داؤد میں اسے البانی نے صحیح قرار دیا ہے۔) مزید یہ کہ ہر سال آنے والے اس دن پر مبارک باد پیش کرنا, اسے منانے اور اسے تہوار کے طور پر منانا حرام ہے۔

Is It Haram to Say Happy New Year? It is not permissible for the Muslims to exchange greetings on the occasion of the Gregorian New Year , and it is not permissible for them to celebrate it. Both of these matters involve imitation of the non-Muslims, and we have been forbidden to do that. The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever imitates a people is one of them.” (Narrated by Abu Dawud, 4031; classed as sahih by al-Albani in Sahih Sunan Abi Dawud) If we look at Islamic history, there are virtually no examples where Muslims especially celebrated this day. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever imitates a people is one of them.” (Saheeh Abi Dawood, (it is) hasan saheeh. No. 3401). (source) Islamic scholars believe that since Muslims have their own calendar (Hijri), celebrating the Gregorian New Year is pointless. Moreover, offering greetings on this day that comes back each year comes under the heading of celebrating it and taking it as a festival, which is also forbidden. This matter opens the door to bid’ah, and it comes under the general meaning of the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), “Whoever innovates anything in this matter of ours that is not part of it will have it rejected.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, al-Sulh 2499; Muslim, 1718). And Allaah knows best. In general, (Muslims) are not allowed to single out the festivals of the unbelievers for any of these rituals or customs. Rather the day of their festivals is just an ordinary day for the Muslims, and they should not single it out for any activity that is part of what the unbelievers do on these days.” (Al-Fatawa al-Kubra, 2/487; Majmu‘ al-Fatawa, 25/329
