🚨 DAY 19: 30 DAYS ETHICS ENRICHMENT SERIES 📚 Topic: Ethics Of Care 📖 Meaning: The Ethics of Care is a moral theory that emphasizes the importance of relationships, empathy, and emotional connectedness in ethical decision-making. The Ethics of Care stresses the significance of caring relationships and the moral responsibility that arises from these relationships, particularly within the context of family, communities, and caregiving roles. The Ethics of Care was primarily developed by Carol Gilligan. 📖 Central ideas: The Ethics of Care revolves around a few central ideas: a) Relational Morality: Ethical decisions should be grounded in the context of personal relationships, such as those between parents and children, friends, or caregivers and those receiving care. b) Interdependence and Responsibility: It recognizes that human beings are not isolated individuals but are deeply interconnected with others. c) Empathy and Emotional Engagement: Empathy, compassion, and emotional involvement are central to the Ethics of Care. d) Contextual Decision-Making: Moral decisions are context-sensitive, taking into account the unique circumstances and needs of those involved, rather than adhering to rigid, rule-based moral systems. 💬 Key Quote: "The ethic of care emphasizes interdependence rather than independence and focuses on the way people relate to each other in a network of care." — Carol Giligan 👉 Application: 1️⃣ Use the concept in questions related to ethical relativism, empathy, and interdependence. 2️⃣ Justify your action by citing Ethics of Care concept. Hit ❤️ if you found this useful. 📎 Stay Updated : @upscandbeyondd

🚨BREAKING - India blocks Turkey's entry into BRICS I have been following IR for more than 6 years now, each time Turkey takes anti India stance, I felt angry over non reciprocity by India. (I dont know whether you are aware about Turkey's open support to Pakistan, Stand on Article 370 and Kashmir issue and blocking India's Bid as a permanent member of UNSC.) But Today, India has punched beyond its weight. India has never shown this level of assertiveness and reciprocity wrt its strategic interests (except in case of Pakistan). This will set a new precedent for Indian Diplomats as well as the future foreign Policy Makers. Now, I am waiting for the Day, when India openly Promote Italy as a better Tourist Destination over Turkey (as India did in case of Maldives) Jai Hind 🇮🇳 Keep following for such updates on IR, stay updated: https://t.me/Internationalrelationsforcse

Trump's Tarrifs

🚨 DAY 21: 30 DAYS ETHICS ENRICHMENT SERIES 📚 Topic: Slippery Slope 📖 Meaning: The Slippery Slope argument can be explored in various ethical dilemmas or situations, particularly when a small unethical action, if unchecked, could lead to a gradual erosion of moral standards, integrity, or values. 📖 Key aspects: 1. Decision-making and Ethical Choices: The small initial action, seen as harmless, can gradually lead to bigger ethical compromises, diminishing integrity and professionalism in the long run. 2. Impact on Governance and Public Trust: The idea is that the acceptance of small wrongdoings can lead to an escalating series of unethical actions, eventually causing systemic corruption. 3. Rule of Law and Accountability: There would be undermining of the rule of law, as authorities might continue to make exceptions or overlook violations, weakening the moral fabric of legal processes. 4. Governance in Crisis Situations: An initial compromise in the name of efficiency during a crisis could lead to the erosion of fundamental rights or freedoms in the long term. 💬 Key Quote: "Once we allow a small exception to the rule, it will eventually lead to the collapse of the rule itself." — Thomas Sowell 👉 Application: 1️⃣ Use this concept in questions where you need to emphasise on right means over ends. 2️⃣ In Case studies where you are forced/enticed to take some action in return for small benefits, you can refuse the offer by stating: Such action will lead to a slippery slope and will lead to unethical consequences in the long term. Hit ❤️ if you found this useful. 📎 Stay Updated : @upscandbeyondd

My shadow arrived before me and left without me. I chased it for years, furious at being second in my own life. Then I understood what it means when your shadow runs ahead of you. It means the light is behind you, warm on your back, and has been all along. I stopped chasing. I turned around. I had never once looked at the sun.
