🚨 DAY 18: 30 DAYS ETHICS ENRICHMENT SERIES
📚 Topic: Emile Durkheim's Anomie
📖 Meaning:
Anomie, a term coined by Émile Durkheim, refers to a state of normlessness, where societal norms and values become unclear or are eroded, leading to a breakdown in social cohesion and individual behavior.
In such a condition, individuals may feel disconnected from the collective values of society, leading to confusion, disorientation, and a lack of direction.
✏️ Causes of Anomie:
1️⃣ Rapid Social Change: In times of social or economic upheaval, traditional norms and values may not keep pace with the changes, causing confusion and a loss of shared direction.
2️⃣ Lack of Social Regulation: When social norms or regulations (e.g., family, community, or government institutions) are weak or ineffective, individuals may feel disconnected and lack a sense of purpose.
3️⃣ Individualism in Modern Society: As societies modernize, especially through industrialization, there is a shift towards individualism. While this provides personal freedom, it can also lead to feelings of isolation and an absence of a collective identity.
4️⃣ Economic and Social Inequality: Disparities in wealth, education, and opportunity can create frustration, as people may feel they cannot achieve the goals set by society, leading to feelings of powerlessness.
👉 Application:
1️⃣ Use this concept in questions related to Society.

Asking case laws has been a new trend in UPSC, and even if not asked directly, it always enriches answers. Without a good hold over it, impossible to score 110+.
If you have mains: do atleast the star marked ones in static document, and all the one's from current. (Check out the group for it)
If you don't have mains: be thorough with entire document.
Note: more than mugging up, it is about thinking. Like which cases can be used where, I have written in static document that this can also be used in ethics, case studies etc. Add your creativity to it.
The document contains all major themes like right to life etc, but if you ever find a new theme which is important add on to it. (I did the same, i don't take credit for entire notes, i enriched and made them better)

🚨🚨FIRST-ever" open-sea Marine Fish Farming project"🚨🚨
✔️Union Minister for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences, launched India’s first-ever open-sea Marine Fish Farming project from the Andaman Sea.
✔️The project was launched on-site at North Bay, Sri Vijaya Puram.
✔️The project is being implemented through collaboration between the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, its technical arm the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), and the UT Administration of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
✔️The pilot initiative focuses on open-sea cultivation of marine finfish and seaweed in natural ocean conditions, integrating scientific innovation with livelihood generation.
✔️Under the marine flora component, seaweed seeds were handed over by the Minister to local fishing communities to promote deep-water seaweed cultivation in the open sea.
✔️ Under the marine fauna component, finfish seeds were provided for cage-based cultivation, supported by NIOT-developed open-sea cages designed to function in natural oceanic environments.
🔥🔥Other facts about Blue economy:
✔️Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park (MGMNP) near Wandoor, one of the first marine parks of its kind in the country, established in 1983.
✔️It is spread across 15 islands and accessed via the Wandoor Jetty, the park is renowned for its protected islands such as Jolly Buoy and Red Skin.
✔️It is one of the first major steps in the direction of realizing the Blue Economy through India’s vast ocean resources.

✅Day 26: Diagramification of your Mains Answer
🏹Theme: MSP - one pie, one number, and the whole legal-guarantee debate inside it.
📌Only 6% of farmers have access to MSP (NSO data). That single slice is the strongest sentence you can write on farm distress, on procurement, on why the MSP-guarantee demand exists at all - and it is stronger as a pie than as a sentence, because the examiner SEES how thin the slice is before reading how thin it is. Draw it in the intro when the question is about farmer income; draw it in the body when the question is about procurement reform.
Small pie. Very large argument.
