AP: Inviting Suggestions from all The Government of Andhra Pradesh is dedicated to redefining Intermediate Education, ensuring students are equipped for a brighter and more competitive future. Academic reform at this level, long overdue, is now a priority. Based on extensive feedback from stakeholders, including parents, students, and academicians, the following key initiatives have been proposed: 1.Revision of Syllabus and Textbooks: Updating content to align with current academic and industry standards. 2.Introduction of New Subject Combinations: Providing students with flexible and diverse academic choices. 3.Changes in Examination Marks Pattern: Reforming the evaluation system for holistic assessment and reduced rote learning. 4.Proposal to Remove Intermediate First-Year Board Examinations: A step toward reducing academic pressure and streamlining the education process. These reforms aim to create an inclusive, future-ready education system that prioritizes student development and global competitiveness. Government is open for suggestions from public, students, parents and Academicians on the proposed reforms by 26th January, 2025. Will there be any public exams for the first year of intermediate? AP: It seems that key reforms are coming in the intermediate. The education department is working to conduct exams in the second year of the course simultaneously, on the lines of CBSE, without public exams for the first year of intermediate. It is hoped that this will provide more time for studying and increase the pass percentage. It is reported that there is a plan to introduce an internal marking system for the first year. This will be taken forward only after a public opinion poll.
