The Masar Badil, the Palestinian Alternative Revolutionary Path Movement, calls upon football fans, supporters, athletes, sports clubs and federations participating in World Cup activities to transform stadiums and sporting venues into platforms of solidarity with the Palestinian people and expressions of global popular outrage in the face of the siege and the ongoing genocidal war against the Gaza Strip, as well as the U.S.-Zionist aggression against Lebanon, Iran, and the peoples of the region. The world is witnessing one of the most horrific crimes in contemporary history, as the Zionist entity, with direct U.S. and Western support, continues its open war against the Palestinian people, targeting civilians, children, women, hospitals, schools, shelters, and infrastructure in a failed attempt to break the will of the Palestinian people and their resistance. International sporting institutions cannot continue to ignore Zionist crimes against Palestinian sport. We call for the expulsion of “Israel” from the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), the International Olympic Committee, and all international sports federations and organizations, and for the imposition of comprehensive sporting isolation on it as a state of occupation, colonialism, and apartheid. Occupation forces have killed nearly one thousand Palestinian athletes during the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, and have destroyed dozens of stadiums, sports halls, youth centers, and sporting facilities in a systematic attack on Palestinian sport and on the Palestinian people’s right to life and liberation. The occupation also continues to imprison hundreds of Palestinian athletes in its prisons and detention centers, while denying thousands of athletes the right to travel and participate in regional and international sporting competitions and events. The continued membership of “Israel” in international sporting institutions constitutes a major moral and political scandal, exposing the hypocrisy and double standards that govern these institutions, which proclaim the values of justice and equality while providing cover for a state that commits war crimes, genocide, and the systematic destruction of Palestinian society. We call upon World Cup viewers and football supporters to raise Palestinian flags, organize solidarity actions, launch chants and display banners opposing genocide, and demand the exclusion of the Zionist entity from all sporting, cultural, and international forums, affirming that free peoples will not remain silent in the face of the crimes committed against Palestine and the peoples of the region. The struggle for Palestine is not solely a Palestinian issue, but a human, moral, and international cause, and that sports fans around the world possess the ability to send a clear message to their governments and sporting institutions: that a state built on occupation, racism, and genocide has no place among the free peoples of the world and no place in international sporting arenas.

Fouad Habib Qattaya, born in 1982 in Hermel, is an aluminum and woodworker, who was traveling to work with his nephew and business partner Ali Naser Younis on December 19, 2024. The two were receiving contracts to install aluminum fixtures to rebuild homes damaged by Zionist attacks on South Lebanon. As the two headed to a job site in Shaqra, south Lebanon, their vehicle was intercepted by a Zionist military unit invading Wadi al-Hujeir, and they were abducted on the spot. Captain Imad Fadel Amhaz, born in Al-Kwakh, Beqaa, in 1986, and residing in Qamatiyeh, had one academic year left to complete his studies at the Marine Sciences Academy in Batroun, where he was undergoing training. He was a captain of civilian commercial maritime ships and boats. He is married and the father of three children. He was captured in his room on November 1, 2024 during an invasion by an “Israeli” commando unit, which stormed his room with over 25 invading soldiers in front of UNIFIL forces stationed at sea, who did not act to stop his abduction. Born in 1990 in Maaroub, south Lebanon, Ali Mohammed Fneish was captured on June 4, 2025, months into the ceasefire, while fishing off Naqoura Beach, in full view of Lebanese security forces, who failed to intervene to prevent his capture, despite the blatantly unlawful invasion of Lebanese waters. He is married with three daughters and two sons; his oldest child is 14 and his youngest, 4. He works in the fishing industry, owns a shop selling fishing equipment and regularly goes to sea to fish and support his family. On Friday, June 5, Samidoun Barcelona @samidounbarcelona hosted a live conversation with two liberated long-time Palestinian prisoners in occupation jails, Nael Barghouti and Nader Sadaqa, key figures in the Palestinian liberation movement. Both were liberated after decades behind Zionist bars in the Toufan al-Ahrar exchange with the Palestinian resistance. Nael Barghouti and Nader Sadaqa addressed exile, the struggle inside and outside Zionist prisons, the challenges posed by the current complex situation, the right to return, the death penalty law, the conviction that Palestine will be liberated, and the importance of continuing to organize in the internationalist struggle against the imperialist Zionist enemy. Both called upon the movement and the free people of the world to continue the struggle from our territories, reminding us that our efforts against fascism and racism - components of Zionism - constitute an extension of the resistance and steadfastness of the Palestinian people. Resistance is and will be the only path. 🇵🇸Long live a free Palestine!

Hassan Aqil Jawad, born in 1987, was captured by invading Zionist forces in Aita Al-Shaab on October 15, 2024, while defending Lebanon -- his land and his country. He is married and the father of two children. Free Hassan Jawad and all Lebanese and Palestinian prisoners in occupation jails!

Hussein Amin Karaki, born in 1989 in Khirbet Salem, was attacked by occupation forces on January 26, 2025 — the day civilians were allowed to return to their villages following the expiration of the “Israeli” withdrawal deadline. Hussein, accompanied by his mother Tamara Shahimi and his sister, walked toward Markaba to be among the first to reach it. They were met with a barrage of gunfire from occupation forces. Hussein was hit in the hand and took cover behind an earthen barrier. When the gunfire briefly ceased, he tried to move back, only to find that soldiers had reached the barrier and opened fire directly at him and his family. His mother was martyred instantly before his eyes, leaving him unable to help her, and Hussein himself was then shot again in the back, causing him to fall to the ground before being taken prisoner. The occupation forces surrounded Hussein and kidnapped him, wounded, refusing to allow his sister to call an ambulance No information has emerged about Hussein Karaki’s current condition, and even the five Lebanese detainees released in March 2025 had not seen him. Hussein, who lives in Haret Hreik, is married. His sister, Fatima, is one of the spokespeople for the prisoners' families, whose voice resounds at the demonstrations, press conferences and mobilizations calling for action for freedom for Lebanese prisoners. The video above, featuring Hussein's niece, expresses the love of his family and their desire for him to return home. "Our voices will always call for you." Ibrahim Munif Al-Khalil, born in 1990 in Aita Al-Shaab, was captured on October 15, 2024, while defending his land and his country from the invading occupation forces. He is married and has two children. Freedom for Ibrahim al-Khalil and all Lebanese and Palestinian prisoners in Zionist jails!

The youngest Lebanese prisoner held by the occupation, Ali Tarhini was born in 2006 in the southern town of Jibchit in the Nabatieh district. A vocational student [BT3 in Civic Education], he was preparing to sit for his official exams — an opportunity lost when he was arrested. He was captured on January 28, 2025, while attempting to take part in the liberation of the southern town of Odaisseh following the ceasefire. During the confrontation, he was shot in the back by invading Zionist occupation soldiers with an explosive bullet that exited through his abdomen, causing severe injuries. “Israeli” occupation forces prevented medical teams from reaching him and instead transferred him, wounded, to Ramla Prison. According to testimonies from five released detainees in March, Ali still suffers from difficulty walking and standing due to his injury.
