Since I am getting so many queries for strategy, resources for Sociology optional, I will be writing everything I did for my optional in both of my attempts. One thing I want to make extremely clear is I never took foundation classes or any type of classes for my optional. For my 1st attempt in which I got 253 marks, i opted for these resources and strategy :- 1.Nitin Sangwan Sir's ESSENTIAL SOCIOLOGY was my ultimate base material which helped me build a basic understanding of concepts. 2.In addition to this, i referred to Tusharanshu Sharma Sir's online notes on paper 1 and paper 2 which I found online only . 3.Apart from these sources, i referred to Sleepy classes videos on YouTube where I lacked understanding (not all the videos). Also, Divakar Bothra Sir's youtube videos titled sociology in 10 mins were good for understanding. I referred to some of these videos too. 4.I also referred to Animesh Pradhan Sir's telegram channel for his notes and strategy. https://t.me/AnimeshPradhan_AIR2 Also, Jagrati Mam's channel for sociology as well as overall preparation 5.For current affairs, i referred to One liner Sociology in my 1st attempt https://t.me/onelinersociologyoptional In my 2nd attempt, i referred to One more channel https://t.me/sociologyacademy Apart from these channels, I regular picked examples from newspapers and tried to relate them to sociological concepts. 6.Also, i referred to Triumph IAS site for blogs on topics for which I lacked information. 7.I took daily answer writing program from IAS network which was not much good. 8.i wrote free FLTs from Topper's IAS during mains. Apart from this, I didn't take any test series in this attempt. In my second attempt I improved my score to 282 with some changes :- 1.I joined sociology program from Karmayogi IAS by Aditya Sharma which was an excellent program. It contained test series, current affairs everything https://t.me/karmayogi_ias 2.I changed my approach of answer writing which I will share in my next post. 3., I tried to incorporate diagrams as such as possible wherever relevant. 4.I tried to put contemporary examples in my answers. So, HAPPY STUDYING SOCIOLOGY.

All the best for UPSC Prelims 2026. Trust your preparation and stay focused

UPSC CSE Final Result is Out Tonight will be an emotional night for many. For some, it will echo with joy and celebration. For others, it may pass quietly, carrying unspoken feelings. Both experiences are genuine. Both deserve respect. To those whose names appear on the list today—my sincere congratulations. Years of patience, discipline, uncertainty, and relentless effort have finally transformed into a moment of pride for you and your loved ones. You truly deserve this success. Carry it with humility and responsibility. To those who could not see their names this time—take a moment to pause. Do not rush to conclusions or decisions tonight. A single result cannot define your journey, your effort, or your worth. Allow the emotions to settle. Give yourself the space to breathe and reflect. If you choose to continue this journey, remember this moment—the disappointment, the questions, and the silent resolve that grows within. Often, these very moments shape the strength needed for future victories. And for those whose final attempt concluded today without the outcome they hoped for—my deepest respect to you. It takes immense courage to dedicate years of life to a dream that comes with uncertainty. Your journey itself reflects determination and character. Take pride in that. This examination measures preparation, but life measures perseverance. And in the long run, perseverance has its own way of rewarding those who carry it forward. One Liner Sociology🤝 Madhu V Gowda
