Many people hate backtesting or finds it boring simply because they do NOT know how to do it properly. Here are few steps to do it right: 1. You must first believe in what you want to backtest. This is strange but it is True. The Belief can be based on what your mentor just taught you or what you learn online. Or rather based on what you have logically or mathematically proven(I use mathematics for my concept proofs) 2. If you include fundamentals in your strategy, then randomly backtesting the candles alone is peak fooling. You must ask the same question you would normally ask when it is live trades like: what is happening in the world right now? What is the United States economy saying? what is the commitment of Traders report saying? Seasonality? etc. 3. You must involve the exact risk parameters and conditions you would normally use during live trades These are just few of the critical things Traders miss out. ➡️REACT to this post if you me to do LIVE backtesting session with you all.
