📊 Today's USD News Analysis | Core PCE
Core PCE, the Fed's preferred inflation gauge, is released today at 16:30 Dubai time. Markets expect a 0.3% m/m rise, up from 0.2% last month. The Fed hiked rates earlier this month, but Williams' softer tone has cut the odds of another hike in October from 70% to about 43%. That makes today's number a potential trigger for a sharp repricing.
🔴 A print above 0.3% would revive October hike bets, lifting the dollar and pressuring gold. 🟢 A softer print would weigh on the dollar and give gold room to recover. ⚪️ An in-line reading will likely see a muted reaction, with focus shifting to Friday's NFP.
💵 The Dollar Index trades near 101.20 with an overall bullish structure. First resistance sits at 101.61, and a break above opens the way toward 102. Support lies at 101.08, then 100.10.
🟡 Gold is around $4,185 and keeps a bearish short-term bias while it stays below its key moving averages. Resistance is at 4,288 and 4,322. Support is at 4,100, then 4,000. Only a soft print plus a hold above 4,322 would turn the outlook bullish.
⚠️ ADP is released at 16:15 Dubai time, 15 minutes before PCE, and may drive the first move. Watch the annual core rate too: a 3.4% reading would be read as hawkish. Manage your risk.
