🔵 What is BRICS PLUS ? • mooted by China in 2017 (Xiamen Summit) • objective of widening the "circle of friends" of BRICS through outreach activities with emerging markets and developing countries of the Global SOUTH 👉It involved inviting a few countries from different regions. For example: South Africa emulated it, with representation of five nations of its choice.The countries were Argentina, Jamaica, Turkey, Indonesia and Egypt. 👉An immediate benefit of BRICS Plus is the opportunities it provides for networking among leaders. However, the precise role of “BRICS Plus” countries will take time to evolve. 👉And for this, we have to keep tab on ongoing BRICS Summit at South Africa✅️
