🎖What is this Rwandan Crisis?
🛑The Rwandan genocide of April-July 1994 was the culmination of long-running ethnic tensions between the minority Tutsi community, who had controlled power since colonial rule by Germany and Belgium, and the majority Hutu. Over the course of 100 days, the tragedy took the lives of over 8 lakh people, estimated to amount up to 20% of Rwanda’s population.
🛑In June 1994, France deployed a much-delayed UN-backed military force in southwest Rwanda called Operation Turquoise– which was able to save some people, but was accused of sheltering some of the genocide’s perpetrators

🅾️India being such a diverse nation has been home to a variety of different ways one can get married, most of the communities still prefer having the marriage in their own way as in India marriages are still a union of the families instead of just the two people- This is the fact exhibited by above study- If that is right or wrong is a debate which is very personal.... because it talks about Social institutions( they dont mean the same thing for all- i.e. they are not homogenous)

🎖Question : Which one is better?- Live in relations or the Institution of marriage
🅾️Marriage describes society’s current understanding of family- As such it has a certain role in Indian society- What is that?- It is the most acceptable and stable institution contributing to the basic needs of the society and maintaining social order. i.e. marriage has a purpose- to ensure social need are met with least conflict ( as of now considered to be the most peaceful way for furthering the institution of family- please don't quote exceptions and super billionaires like bill gates/ jeff bezos- we are preparing for UPSC and u doesnt stand for Unites states- lets stick to Indian society and the stats are given here 🙂

✅GS -4 : Ethics- what do you mean by integrity? Is it different from honesty?
Let me try to explain the difference here.
There is a choice between two bowlers- say A and B.
A is not a seasoned bowler but if we take a look at his record- he has a best bowling figure of 6 wkts for 5 runs in a match. He was honest in his intention that day.
B is another bowler- he doesn't have the same record of A but is proven to be a match winner- especially in the death overs.
Whom do you pick? A or B?
B seems like a rational choice. - it is because he is consistent.
This consistency happens when your belief( that you will win the game)- your values- ( preferring to win every time)- your attitude- being honest in your effort )and your behaviour( manifesting in the results you deliver) have proven your worth.Honesty is instantaneous- like a flower pot- short-lived yet beautiful.Integrity is like a candle- boring unexciting but reliable.

⚠️For examples SARS broke out in 2002- pharma companies spent billions on understanding it- same is the case with EBOLA- they didn't have any returns back then but after that knowledge helped in creating this covid vaccine- What about the money spent ? How do we expect the companies to be so generous?
🎖Does it mean we have to give them a free hand let them rob the poor countries or deny them a vaccine?- Is this how it should work?

Most likely these officers have families like all of us, whose family members might be extremely anxious just like how we all are.......
🔴Nobody likes to be on the front end of this diabolical war... The doctors, the frontline workers, none of them, YET there are many who wouldn't think twice to get onto the duty...
🔴Let us strive to be that person- who feels vulnerable yet doesn't think twice to do your duty- Just like those doctors, the police, etc.. IF you are really up for this exam in these times- probably this is what it takes- INTEGRITY and EMPATHY
