Report: DRDO, along with researchers of IIT Delhi has developed Light Weight Bullet Proof Jackets named ABHED (Advanced Ballistics for High Energy Defeat). These jackets have been created from polymers and indigenous boron carbide ceramic material. The design configuration is based on characterisation of various materials at high strain rate followed by appropriate modelling and simulation in collaboration with DRDO. The armour plates for the jackets have passed all necessary R&D trials as per the protocols. The jackets meet the highest threat levels, and are lighter than the maximum weight limits stipulated in respective General Staff Qualitative Requirement of the Indian Army. With minimum possible weight of 8.2 kgs and 9.5 kgs for different BIS Levels, these modular-design jackets having front & rear armours provide 360 degree protection.

Important Notice- This is to inform All DDA Diamonds (NDA, CDS, Airforce, SSC, Merchant Navy) that a General Aptitude test will be held on coming Saturday 28th September 2024. Test pattern-100 questions (1hr 30 min) Elementary Maths- 25 questions General English- 25 questions General Knowledge- 25 questions General Science -25 questions. Next week, Harmanpreet Kaur will join a band of Super Six to be featured in each of the nine ICC Women’s T20 World Cup editions. While Harmanpreet will be the only Indian to have achieved the feat, others in the club will include Suzie Bates (New Zealand), Sophie Devine (England), Marizanne Kapp (South Africa), Ellyse Perry (Australia) and Chamari Athapaththu (Sri Lanka). More than being proud of being the only Indian female – and second India cricketer (The first being Rohit Sharma) – to have achieved the feat, Harmanpreet is focused on using all her experience to help fulfil her dream of lifting an ICC trophy that has eluded her so far.
