German sportswear giant Adidas is experiencing backlash and increasing boycott calls after excluding American-Palestinian model Bella Hadid from a recent advertising campaign. In response to criticism from Israel, Adidas pulled Hadid, known for her outspoken support of Palestinian rights, from a retro shoe campaign that referenced the 1972 Munich Olympics. Following this decision, social media users have rallied in support of Hadid, urging a boycott of Adidas products.

The Israeli Occupation Forces ordered over 400,000 Palestinians to evacuate Khan You is, which it designated a safe zone for civilians. Palestinians are once again being forcibly displaced by occupation forces.

The United Arab Emirates has imprisoned over 50 Bangladeshis, three of whom have been given life sentences, for protesting against the government of their home country. The Abu Dhabi Federal Court of Appeal handed out the three life sentences, as well as 10-year prison terms for 53 others, for participating in demonstrations. Those convicted will be deported to Bangladesh at the end of their sentences.

🚨 Bangladeshi military police killed an unarmed student and then paraded his body around the streets of Dhaka on top of a tank. His body was later dumped on the streets.

A right-wing hindu mob attacked Raza Jama mosque in Maharashtra, India, whilst shouting anti-Muslim slogans. The mob can be seen entering the masjid and vandalising everything inside, others climbed the mosque and were trying to destroy the building.

On this day, exactly 10 years ago, the Israeli occupation forces bombed and killed four young boys who were playing football at a beach in Gaza. The boys: Ismail Mohammed Bakr (9), Zakaria Ahed Bakr (10), Ahed Atef Bakr (10), Mohamed Ramez Bakr (11), were all cousins and their killings were witnessed by journalists who were at a hotel only a few hundred metres away. After international condemnation from certain media outlets, the Israeli forces held an ‘investigation’, however Israel decided that it was not guilty of the crimes it committed. Israel has been committing war crimes against the Palestinians for over 75 years, this is nothing new.

The Day of ʿĀshūrāʾ also marks the day in which the Grandson of the Prophet ﷺ Al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī رضي الله عنه was martyred in Karbala. We ask Allāh to grant him company with our beloved Prophet ﷺ, and to raise his status above that which is falsely attibuted to him.

Muḥarram 10th is the Day of ʿĀshūrāʾ, which marks the day Allāh saved Mūsā عليه السلام and his people from the oppressive Pharaoh. Ibn al-ʿAbbās رضي الله عنه reported that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ arrived in Madīnah and found the Jews observing fast on the day of ʿĀshūrāʾ. The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said to them: What is the significance of this day that you observe fast on it? They said: It is the day of great (significance) when Allāh delivered Mūsā and his people, and drowned the Pharaoh and his people, and Moses observed fast out of gratitude and we also observe it. Upon this the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: We have more right, and we have a closer connection with Moses than you have; so Allāh's Messenger ﷺ observed fast (on the day of ʿĀshūrāʾ), and gave orders that it should be observed. [Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1130c]
