An Israeli official said on Monday no ceasefire had been agreed in Gaza, after Hamas said it had accepted a proposal from Egyptian and Qatari mediators. The Israeli official said the proposal that Hamas had accepted was a "softened" version of an Egyptian proposal, which included "far-reaching" conclusions that Israel could not accept.

O believers! Whoever among you abandons their faith, Allāh will replace them with others who love Him and are loved by Him. They will be humble with the believers but firm towards the disbelievers, struggling in the Way of Allāh; fearing no blame from anyone. This is the favour of Allāh. He grants it to whoever He wills. And Allāh is All-Bountiful, All-Knowing. [Sūrah al-Māʾidah, Verse 54]

Abū Hurayrah رضي الله عنه‎ reported Allāh's Messenger ﷺ as saying: “Allāh has mobile (squads) of angels, who have no other work (to attend to but) to follow the assemblies of ḏikr and when they find such assemblies in which there is ḏikr (of Allāh) they sit in them and some of them surround the others with their wings till the space between them and the sky of the world is fully covered, and when they disperse (after the assembly of ḏikr is adjourned) they go upward to the heaven and Allāh, the Exalted and Glorious, asks them although He is best informed about them: ‘Where have you come from?’ They (the angels) say: ‘We come from Thine servants upon the earth who had been glorifying Thee (reciting SubḥānAllāh), uttering Thine Greatness (reciting Allāhu Akbar) and uttering Thine Oneness (reciting Lā ʾilāha ʾillā llāh) and praising Thee (reciting Alḥamdulillāh) and begging of Thee.’ Allāh would say: ‘What do they beg of Me?’ They (the angels) would say: ‘They beg of Thee the Paradise of Thine.’ Allāh would say: ‘Have they seen My Paradise?’ They (the angels) said: ‘No, our Lord.’ Allāh would say: ‘(What it would be then) if they were to see Mine Paradise?’ They (the angels) said: ‘They seek Thine protection.’ Allāh would say: ‘Against what do they seek protection of Mine?’ They (the angels) would say: ‘Our Lord, from the Hell-Fire.’ Allāh would say: ‘Have they seen My Fire?’ They (the angels) would say: ‘No.’ Allāh would say: ‘What it would be if they were to see My Fire?’ They (the angels) would say: ‘They beg of Thee forgiveness.’ Allāh would say: ‘I grant pardon to them, and confer upon them what they ask for and grant them protection against which they seek protection.’ They (the angels) would again say: ‘Our Lord, there is one amongst them such and such simple servant who happened to pass by (that assembly) and sat there along with them (who had been participating in that assembly).’ Allāh would say: ‘I also grant him pardon, for they are a people the seat-fellows of whom are in no way unfortunate.’ [Ṣāḥīḥ Muslim 2689]

Nuʿmān ibn Bashir رضي الله عنه reported Allāh's Messenger ﷺ as saying: The similitude of believers in regard to mutual love, affection, fellow-feeling is that of one body; when any limb of it aches, the whole body aches, because of sleeplessness and fever. [Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2586a]

My Lord! Inspire me to always be thankful for Your favours which You have blessed me and my parents with, and to do good deeds that please you. Admit me, by Your mercy, into the company of Your righteous servants. [Rabbi awziʿ'nī an ashkura niʿ'mataka allatī anʿamta ʿalayya waʿalā wālidayya wa-an aʿmala ṣāliḥan tarḍāhu wa-adkhil'nī biraḥmatika fī ʿibādika-ṣāliḥīn] [Sūrah an-Naml, Verse 19]

The golden advice of ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb رضي الله عنه “There’s nothing more sufficient than when someone disobeys Allāh in dealing with you, you do nothing but obey Allāh in dealing with him. Place the affairs of your brother when they reach you upon the best of interpretations until there comes to you clarity which overcomes that. Do not think ill of a statement which comes from another Muslim if you can find a good interpretation for it. Whoever exposes himself to suspicion let him not blame those who then think badly of him, and whoever conceals his secrets, strength of choice will be in his hands. Hold fast to truthful companions, live with them closely for they are a charm at times of ease and an aid at times of difficulty. Stick to the truth even if the truth kills you, and do not involve yourself with issues that don’t concern you. Do not ask about things which haven’t taken place for indeed, that which has already taken place is enough to preoccupy you from it! Do not seek help or take your affairs to someonewho doesn’t wish to see you succeed, and do not befriend the sinful lest you learn from his sins and evil. Keep away from your enemy and be cautious of even your friend, except for the truthful and trusted friend. And no-one is trustworthy except him who fears Allāh. Humble yourself at the graves, lower yourself in obedience and stand firm against disobedience. And when it comes to your affairs, seek counsel only from those who truly fear Allāh for indeed, Allah says, إِنَّمَا يَخْشَى اللَّهَ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ الْعُلَمَاءُ “…Indeed, it is only those who have knowledge among His Slaves, that truly fear Allāh.” [Sūrah al-Fatir, Verse 28] (Narrated by Sa'id ibn al Musayyib, in ’Rawdhat al-‘Uqala’)

Righteousness is not in turning your faces towards the east or the west. Rather, the righteous are those who believe in Allāh, the Last Day, the angels, the Books, and the prophets; who give charity out of their cherished wealth to relatives, orphans, the poor, needy travellers, beggars, and for freeing captives; who establish prayer, pay zakah, and keep the pledges they make; and who are patient in times of suffering, adversity, and in the heat of battle. It is they who are true in faith, and it is they who are mindful of Allāh. [Sūrah al-Baqarah, Verse 177]

Narrated Saʿd ibn Abī Waqqāṣ رضي الله عنه‎: ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb asked the permission of Allāh's Messenger (ﷺ) to see him while some Quraishi women were sitting with him, talking to him and asking him for more expenses, raising their voices above the voice of Allāh's Messenger (ﷺ). When ʿUmar asked for the permission to enter, the women quickly put on their veils. Allāh's Apostle allowed him to enter and ʿUmar came in while Allāh's Messenger (ﷺ) was smiling, ʿUmar said "O Allāh's Messenger! May Allāh always keep you smiling." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "These women who have been here, roused my wonder, for as soon as they heard your voice, they quickly put on their veils." ʿUmar said, "O Allāh's Messenger (ﷺ)! You have more right to be feared by them than I." Then ʿUmar addressed the women saying, "O enemies of yourselves! You fear me more than you do Allāh's Messenger (ﷺ)?" They said, "Yes, for you are harsher and sterner than Allāh's Messenger (ﷺ)." Then Allāh's Messenger (ﷺ) said, “O, ibn al-Khaṭṭāb! By Him in Whose Hands my life is! Never does Satan find you going on a way, but he takes another way other than yours." [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 3683]

Abū Hurayrah رضي الله عنه‎ reported Allāh's Messenger ﷺ as saying that Allāh, the Exalted and Glorious, thus stated: “I am near to the thought of My servant as he thinks about Me, and I am with him as he remembers Me. And if he remembers Me in his heart, I also remember him in My Heart, and if he remembers Me in assembly I remember him in assembly, better than his (remembrance), and if he draws near Me by the span of a palm, I draw near him by the cubit, and if he draws near Me by the cubit I draw near him by the space (covered by) two hands. And if he walks towards Me, I rush towards him.” [Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2675a]

Narrated Abū Hurayrah رضي الله عنه: Allāh's Messenger ﷺ said, "If one says one-hundred times in one day: لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ، وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ‏ One will get the reward of manumitting ten slaves, and one-hundred good deeds will be written in his account, and one-hundred bad deeds will be wiped off or erased from his account, and on that day he will be protected from the morning till evening from Satan, and nobody will be superior to him except one who has done more than that which he has done.” [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 3293] Transliteration: Lā ilāha illAllāhu, waḥdahu lā sharīka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu, wa huwa ʿalā kulli shaiʾin qadīr Translation: There is no god but Allāh alone, without any partner. The Kingdom and praise belongs to Him and He has power over everything.
