📚Short recap of the rules 💣 It's very important that all validator participants are crystal-clear on the rules. Here’s a breakdown to ensure everyone is on the same page: How will you receive points and starting when? Points System Post-Epoch 50: From Epoch 51 onward, every participant/SP starts each epoch with 10 points. Your actions or inactions will dictate the deductions from your total points based on the failures incurred, as described below. Aim for the highest score to win the campaign. How will the points be deducted? -Efficiency and Failure Counting: For SPs/Wallets with Nodes in Auction: - If your nodes are qualified but could have qualified more, each missed node counts as a failure. - Each unqualified node directly contributes to your failure count. For SPs Without Nodes in Auction: - Missed opportunities to qualify nodes will be counted as failures. Each node you could have added but didn’t equals one failure. This is easy playable, how do you ensure everything is correct? Staking Requirement: - A hard rule: Your SP must have the full 20,000 xEGLD amount staked. Failure to meet this requirement means you won’t start off epochs with 10 points, impacting your potential to win. Hmm, ok. What if I have some other games in mind? Yes, but beware how much xEGLD you have to manage. The more xEGLD you have, it will become even more difficult to stay efficient. 🚀 Update on Battle of Stakes: Restart, Adjustments, and New Rules 🚀 GM, Validators! Based on the feedback received from you 🔥, we're making some significant updates and additions to Battle of Stakes campaign, which will restart today 2 April 2024. 🔄 Changes and Additions: Welcome Back: The 3 accounts previously removed for not creating a SP have been reinstated to the distribution list. Faucet Activation: To support your strategies and experimentation, faucets will now be available. This change aims to enhance accessibility and engagement throughout the campaign bringing delegators to the game. Open to Delegators: In a bid to broaden the campaign's reach and impact, delegators are now invited to participate opening the doors to new testing scenarios. 🔍 New Testing Category: We're introducing a special category for testing - Special Scenarios Testing. This initiative encourages participants to try unique strategies and configurations. Should you require additional xEGLD for your tests, please request it via this form. 🕰 Schedule Update: To accommodate these changes and ensure everything is set for success, the activation epoch is now scheduled for 14:00-15:00 UTC. 📝 Campaign Duration & Rules Recap: The campaign will span 120 Epochs, maintaining the same framework of rewards and failure counting as previously detailed. Note that eligibility cutoff was the last deadline (28 March 2024 - 19:00 UTC), with new allowances for faucets and delegator participation now in place. 🚀 Battle of Stakes Restart and Activation Epoch Announcement 🚀 Evening, Validators! Battle of Stakes campaign is set to restart tomorrow, 2 April 2024! We will redistribute eGLD in the morning, with the activation epoch planned for 10-11 UTC. 🛠 Adjustments and New Campaign Rules: In light of the challenges encountered during our initial launch, we've taken this opportunity to refine our approach. This includes implementing new rules to enhance the fairness and integrity of the campaign. Here’s what you need to know: Preconditions: The auction results at the start of each epoch include detailed information, such as: Qualified nodes and their stakes per node. Unqualified nodes and their stakes per node. Provider/owner information for each node in the auction list: total nodes and total stake. Information on other providers not in the auction list: total stake and number of nodes. During the campaign, each participant/SP will receive 10 points at the beginning of each epoch. We will deduct points based on the number of failures incurred. The participant with the highest score at the end will become the winner of the campaign, with all the others ranked in descending order according to their point totals. It is mandatory to stake the entire 20000 xEGLD amount. Entities failing to do this, will be disqualified. Strategies for Counting Failures: For SPs with nodes in the auction list: A failure will be counted if a provider with qualified nodes could have had more nodes qualified. One failure per provider will be counted for each additional node that could have been qualified. Owners with unqualified nodes in the auction will receive one failure per unqualified node. For SPs without nodes in the auction list: Failures will be counted for owners who could have added nodes to qualify but did not. One failure will be counted for each missed opportunity. xEGLD Distribution Details: We will distribute 20,001 xEGLD. Unfortunately, those who registered after the last deadline will not be eligible for this distribution (Last deadline: 28 March 2024 - 19:00 UTC). The 3 accounts that during the last campaign start delegated without creating a Staking Pool (SP) have been removed. Moving forward, any account that follows this course will be disqualified. Campaign Duration: 120 Epochs This reset is our commitment to ensuring a fair and successful campaign for all participants. 🛠 Testnet Reset Announcement ⚒ Dear Validators, After encountering an unexpected bug and the need to introduce new rules, alongside the decision to remove a few participants, we find ourselves at this moment. To ensure the integrity and success of Battle of Stakes campaign, we've decided to reset the testnet. We aim to relaunch, refreshed and improved, by Monday at the latest. What can you expect? New rules that refine our process and an enhanced testnet environment that leverages the lessons learned. This reset is a step towards ensuring a robust and effective platform for all involved.
