The UK just gave tech companies 3 months to deploy device-scanning technology on phones and computers sold in the country.
Signal calls it "invisible surveillance infrastructure, switched on by default."
Whether you call it device scanning or a (backdoor), the result is the same: software built into personal devices that can inspect private content.
The same government that requires special approval to spy on politicians wants scanning capabilities embedded into the devices of millions of ordinary people.
