Lowlands Livelihood Resilience Project (LLRP) is Funded by IDA/World Bank and IFAD under the Ministry of Irrigation and Lowlands and being implemented nationwide in six regions; in our region Afar, the project is being implemented in 20 woredas.

Delegates from MOA comprise poultry, livestock, NRM and apiculture experts conduct support and supervision at LLRP project woredas in regional state of Afar. The team visited 4 project woredas namely Dubti, Amibara, Dulessa and Argoba and witnessed past and present LLRP intervention on the promotion of improved agricultural technologies/ practice, livelihood diversification and improvement of household income and food security; Upon completion appreciating the ongoing effort; the team gave technical comments and guidance that are helpful and applicable to the rest of project woredas for further improvement related interventions. | 247 |

Gelelo woreda using innovative solution "hay making box" that enable users manually baler harvested fodder onsite with single labor cost. As a result they are able to reduce the amount of wastage, improve the quality and palatability of fodder/hey.
RPCU currently working with the woreda to document the practice and scale it up to the rest of project woredas
