Community Outreach at West Coast🌟
At yesterday’s Baby & Family Event held at West Coast CC, we set up a booth for participants to get to know us and our activities. This is part of our ongoing initiative to partner with the Southwest CDC in building strong families in West Coast 💪❤️.
Over 400 gifts and flyers were shared with residents, creating many meaningful touchpoints and warm conversations 💬 Participants received thoughtfully prepared items, including handmade candle gifts from our Mandarin Worship Service. Some Carmelites also took time to drop by, connecting and interacting with visitors at our booth 🤗
Let us continue to keep this in prayer 🙏 that those who received our leaflets will come to know our presence in West Coast, and feel warmly welcomed to visit and join us as we build strong communities and families together 💛🏡

| 11 | 👀Church Explorer - Scavenger Hunt 2026
"Find the oldest stone bench in the whole church."
"Find the cross on top of our church."
"Find out the name of an Elder, Deacon/Deaconess, or church staff member and take a photo with them."📸
These were just some of the tasks the Carmel Kids were given during their scavenger hunt on our Anniversary Sunday this year! (Spoiler alert: if you never realised it before (like me) the oldest stone bench is located outside the sanctuary, and was brought over from our Lengkok Bahru shophouse back in the 1960s.)
The P1-6 kids had a blast that Sunday, running all around the church looking for landmarks and people to tick off their scavenger hunt list and earn as many points as possible. Through the hunt, they learnt more about our church's history and the many people who serve faithfully behind the scenes to keep the church going.
I was amazed by how well so many of them knew the church already - they often knew exactly where to go and what to look for! We ended the hunt by watching a video on Mt Carmel's history, tracing how God grew Mt Carmel from a small Sunday school class in Uncle Robert's home to the church family we are today.💒
Amidst all the fun🥳 and chaos, I felt much thankfulness to the Lord that the day. Thankful for His grace and faithfulness to our church through all these years. Thankful that He has made Mt Carmel a church where I could grow up in and call home together with my family. And thankful for the people here whom I get to journey through life with. These are things I've often taken for granted as I come to church week after week. But through the stories we revisited that day, God reminded me that our church is more than just a building or a weekly routine. It is a testimony of His faithfulness across generations, and a family that He has graciously given us to belong to. | 494 |
