May God's abiding peace and comfort of God's promises surround the family.
Dearly beloved GPC family, as we began our sermon series on Nehemiah this past Sunday, let us continue to reflect: "Is there a burden God has entrusted me to help build or restore? What can I do today to build up the church?" And while we seek God, may we also seek to grow as people of integrity, compassion, and dependence on God in prayer, so that God may be glorified in and through us.
Today, let's take time to pray for those serving in our church's Audio-Visual (AV) team. We give thanks for these brothers and sisters in Christ who have been serving quietly but faithfully in the background week after week to facilitate the smooth running of our worship services, both onsite and online, as well as supporting various other church events. Here are some suggested prayer points you can use:
Hearts of Wisdom and Humility
• Pray that every AV team member will continually seek God’s wisdom, serving with humility, faithfulness, and a desire to honour Christ in every task—visible or in the background.
God-Led Calling and New Members
• Ask the Lord to guide the team in finding and inviting individuals who are willing, teachable, and called to serve. Pray for open hearts and a spirit of joyful participation among potential new members.
Unity, Collaboration, and Growth
• Lift up the team as they work alongside one another and with various ministries. Pray for unity, patience, perseverance, and mutual understanding, that their service will help them grow deeper in the Lord.
Strength, Excellence, and Christ-Centred Service
• Pray that the team will rely on God’s strength, offering their best for Christ. Ask that their use of their gifts and abilities bring honour to God, and that all glory be given to Christ alone.

At our Church-Wide Online Prayer meeting last evening, Dn David shared a devotion on "The Precious Word Entrusted To Us", reminding us of the treasure of God's Word —the Bible, and exhorting us to grow in love for it, that we may be transformed by the truths of God's Word and in be God's agents of transformation towards those around us. We then took time to pray for our Word ministries — Church-wide Bible Study, Precept Upon Precept Bible Study, and the Library Ministry. You can either use the attached detailed prayer points or the simplified prayer points previously sent out through Telegram to pray along for these ministries.
Come, join us at our next CWOP on 17th September at 8pm!

Dearly beloved GPC family, as we begin our next sermon series on the book of Nehemiah, let us look forward to learn more about what it means to be built by God into His Missional Community. And let our hearts be opened to ask God: "Lord, where will you have me build?" And let's start with prayer, gathering as God's beloved children this evening for our Church-wide Online Prayer (3 September). See you @ gpc.sg/joincwop (Zoom) from 8-9pm!
We give thanks for God's Word, which reveals to us the grace of the Gospel in Christ, assures us of His presence with us, strengthens our faith in the midst of trials and enables us to grow in faithfulness in this world, so that we as His church may be a pillar and buttress of the truth (1 Timothy 3:15) amidst the unsteady currents of this world. Today, let us pray for the following 3 ministries in GPC that serve to better ground us in God's Word: The Church-Wide Bible Study (CWBS), Precept Upon Precept Bible Study, and Library ministries. If you are unable to make the prayer meeting tonight, you can still be praying along using the following prayer points at any time of the day:
Church-Wide Bible Study
• Pray for Teaching Leaders (TLs) in their lecture preparations, that God would grant them understanding , being cogent in expounding , being relevant in challenge applications. Pray that this application of scripture to life would begin first with the TLs. (TLs: Dr Raymundo Go, Edr Chan Hong Kiat, Edr Goh Chong Ann, Edr Koh Seow Kin, Edr Lee Teck Meng)
• Pray for Small Group Leaders (SGLs) to have wisdom as they lead small group discussions especially during times when members share their struggles in their walk, knowing how to encourage and shepherd with sensitivity and love. (SGLs: Edr Chua Chee Wan, Edr Ong Cheng Kim, Edr James Heng, Edr Koh Seow Kin, Edr Lee Teck Meng, Ng Soon Yin, Ng Ah Choo, Eric Teo, Heng Jee, Kevin Choong, Kho Chin, Mabel Leong, Loke Sai Keng, Sally Pang)
• Pray that fellowship sessions will not only facilitate bonding in the small groups, but also be God-centered, sharpening and encouraging one another to follow Christ.
• Pray for sisters who are willing and available to step forward as SGLs, as many existing ladies’ groups are too large now from lack of SGLs. Pray that these sisters will take this step of faith and faithfulness despite the commitment it entails.
• Pray for wisdom in the team's selection and planning of special ad-hoc Lecture/Seminar topics to benefit and build up our congregation.
Precept Upon Precept Bible Study
• Pray for God’s people who are attending this inductive Bible study to learn the truths in God’s word and apply these truths in their own lives for spiritual growth and bear fruit.
• Pray for smooth completion of the study of Gospel of John and preparation for studies in 2027 on Covenant and Deuteronomy.
• Pray for God’s favour as the Precept team works to raise up more Bible study leaders to lead the various groups of different ages.
• Pray for the current Precept team (Edr Ang Jing Chai, Edr Teo Keng Siang, Li Kiang, Kim Hwa & Edr Eng Chun), as they steward faithfully, seeking wisdom, discernment, and strength from the Lord.
Library Ministry
• Give thanks for the team of librarians who have served faithfully. That God will give them the privilege to continue serving Him in unity.
• Pray for wisdom and discernment for the team in sourcing for biblically sound, relevant materials that will edify and equip our congregation in their spiritual walk.
• Pray for God to strengthen the ministry and give wisdom to encourage greater readership among our congregation and ministry.
• Pray for God's leading in Library team's upcoming annual planning day (3rd Oct) and His provision of new committee members as part of leadership renewal.
Thank you for praying for our church today. React with a ❤️ when you've prayed!

Let's gather together as His people in prayer!
Dearly beloved GPC family, we learnt on Sunday that God's mission to reach the lost flows from Christ through His church and to the world. As Christ so loved His church, let us also grow in love for her, for we belong to her as members of the body of Christ. May Christ our Head be glorified through our church!
Just as we took time to pray for the sisters in GPC last month, let us take time today to pray for the brothers in our church. You may use the following prayer points:
// Prayer for spiritual discipline and godliness
"Train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come." 1 Timothy 4:7b-8
• That men (young or old) will seek to discipline their hearts and minds towards holiness in order to develop good personal habits of studying God's word and prayer, as well as being committed to corporate worship and fellowship.
• That they will pursue true godliness with diligence, rather than being distracted by the busyness of work/school or various forms of entertainment/leisure.
• That the men in GPC will grow in the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the fruit of the Spirit.
// Prayer for fellowship amongst brothers-in-Christ
"Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2
• That men will see the need to journey together with fellow brothers-in-Christ, and will have a desire to build intentional spiritual friendships with one another, taking active steps to do so.
• That in CGs, spiritual friendships, fellowship groups etc., men will be willing to share honestly with, be accountable to, pray, mutually encourage, affirm and exhort one another towards Christlikeness.
• That older men will be willing to disciple younger men (also male young adults to disciple male youths).
// Prayer for spiritual leadership as husbands, fathers or church leaders
"Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her...Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord." Ephesians 5:25 & 6:2
• That husbands and fathers will take their God-given responsibility seriously to love their wives sacrificially and to lovingly bring up their children in the ways of the Lord.
• That God would grant wisdom for men to discern the line between working hard to provide for the family's needs versus over-work or idolizing work that ends up neglecting other family responsibilities/relationships.
• That men who have been given the privilege and responsibility of leadership in the church will lead by example, showing Christlike humility and serving with joy.
Thank you for praying for our church today!

From GPC, God has raised up missionaries to carry His name to the nations. Now they return — and we're called to meet them not as spectators, but as fellow laborers in the harvest. Every part has its role — the sending, the going, the praying — and it is God who makes it grow. "I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth." (1 Cor. 3:6–7)
Join us for a Prayer Meeting with our home grown missionaries — come listen, pray, and take up your part in what God is doing through GPC.
* Meet Lawrence & Susan (OM) and Rus (Japan) on 29 August (Saturday) 2-4pm #01-07

WEAR TO REMEMBER THE UNREACHED
August is Mission month!
We invite you to wear something cultural to worship. By putting on attire that reflects the nations, we remind ourselves of the many peoples who have yet to hear the Good News. Each garment becomes a prayer, each color a reminder, each thread a call to mission.
Let us dress with purpose, remembering the Unreached, and stand together as a church family united in Christ’s mission.

If you missed it, here is a recording of the devotion and prayer points.

AUGUST IS MISSION MONTH.
August is a time to remember that God's heart is for every tribe, tongue, and nation.
We invite you to wear something that reflects your ethnic heritage or a culture close to your heart every Sunday of August. It could be a traditional garment, a scarf, a piece of jewellery, or even a simple accessory. Why?
Because one day, around the throne, people from every nation will worship the Lamb together (Rev 7:9).
When we celebrate our diversity in Christ, we catch a glimpse of that glorious future and we remind one another that the Gospel is for all peoples.
Rev Dr Forest Koh, Senior Pastor
Dearly beloved GPC family, as we began our Missions Month sermon series on Sunday, we were reminded that faithfulness in missions is about seeing ourselves as part of the body of Christ, actively participating in God's mission together, and persevering in it with the confident hope that God is working in His church and will complete this work at the day of Jesus Christ.
Let's take time today to commit unto God the missions ministry that He has given us the privilege to participate in as a church, praying that He will grant us faithfulness and diligence to the great commission of making disciples of all nations. Here are some prayer pointers you can use:
// For partnership in the gospel
• Pray that each worshiper in the church, young or old, will see themselves as part of the body of Christ and seek to actively participate in the work of missions. That they will discern and obey the part they are called by God to play in various seasons of their life (e.g. praying, giving, going, discipling, sending, supporting).
• Pray that God will continue to sustain our short term mission trips to Cambodia, Thailand, Mongolia, Taiwan, Batam and Japan, as well as the relationships with mission partners (mission organisation/churches) there.
• Pray for these mission partners in the various countries to remain steadfast and committed to God's work, persevering in Christ amidst the challenges they might face.
// For GPC's homegrown missionaries
• Pray for God to continue to work in the lives of members exploring long term deployment in the mission field.
• Pray for God to protect, encourage and sustain our homegrown missionaries _(Michelle, Matthew and Rus)_.
• Pray for GPC leaders and members to discern and obey God's leading to support and encourage our missionaries in effective and meaningful ways.
• Pray that as some of them preach in August, that God would open the hearts of the congregation to deepen the church's understanding of missions and God's heart.
• Pray for effective and intentional discipleship in the church family, such that more homegrown missionaries would be raised and sent by GPC.
// For GPC's mission board
(Edr Ronald Lim, Edr Koh Seow Kin, Edr Tay Boon Tee, Edr Chan Hong Kiat, Dn Nicholas Ang, Jeremy Chew, Joe Chiam)
• Pray for guidance for the mission board members as they discharge our duties.
• Pray for God's protection over their families so that they can serve without distraction.
• Pray for dependence on God's wisdom and not their own as they make decisions in the board.
Thank you for lifting up our church in prayer today! May God grant us strength and grace to continue growing and being on mission with Him as His church!
