🔆Lachit Borphukan ✅Born on 24 November 1622 in Charaideo, Assam, he excelled in the art of Guerrilla Warfare. ✅He is known for his exemplary leadership in the Battle of Saraighat (1671), where the Ahoms defeated the Mughal forces led by Raja Ramsingh under Aurangzeb. ✅The battle was fought on the Brahmaputra river near Saraighat and was the last major attempt by the Mughals to extend their empire into Assam. ✅He died on 25th April 1672 at the age of 49 in Jorhat, Assam. ✅He was the inspiration behind strengthening India’s naval force and revitalizing inland water transport and creating infrastructure associated with it due to his great naval strategies. #gs1 #art_and_culture Join @PIB_UPSC @upsc_art_and_culture
