Even Economic Survey 2020-21,one of the most credible government document ,has given the reference of a Sanskrit shloka to substantiate it's viewpoint.
This shloka is written by Kalidasa in his magnum opus Mahakavya, Raghuvasnham. The mentioned shloka forms the core of good governance. If it's difficult to memorize in Sanskrit, please memorize the English translation and it's source.
Long live India, long live Indians and long live 'Dev Bhasha'.
This shloka is of Chanakya,Chapter 4,Verse 5.
Learning is like a cow of desire. It, like her, yields in all seasons. Like a mother, it feeds you on your journey, therefore learning is a hidden treasure.
Bottom line: The fruits of learning are reaped at all times and across all situations. A learned person is respected and valued even in a land of strangers. It is the knowledge, the experience of a person which protects a person in a stranger's land and provides him/her ample resources for a good life. Hence, the yard stick to judge a person should be his/ her knowledge, cognitive abilities rather than physical beauty. Knowledge of a person can't be known by his/ her physical features, so don't judge a books by it's cover. One should always have the thirst for learning more. There shouldn't be arrogance in oneself of the fact that he/she knows a lot. Learning requires humility and so humility should be embraced at all times to learn.
Use this in gs 4 questions of learning, experience, knowledge, self-improvement,self-growth, humility, case studies where you need to take extra responsibilities(which increases your knowledge) and essay based on similar themes.

Long live India, long live Indians and long live 'Dev Bhasha'.
These lines are from the famous poem 'Koshish karne waalon ki' by Sohan Lal Dwivedi (not Harivanshrai Bachchan as erroneously mentioned before).
These lines act as a source of motivation and courage in tough times.Read these lines and feel the difference.
Long live India, long live Indians and long live 'Dev Bhasha'.
This shloka is from Buddha Charitam, Chapter 23, Verse 53.
Be compassionate and friendly to all living beings.
Bottom line: These lines aptly encapsulates the idea of compassion towards all. The meaning of compassion is to recognize the suffering of others and then take action to help. Compassion embodies a tangible expression of love. The idea of compassion is to walk in the shoes of other living beings and understand the worldly objects from others point-of-view. It is based on the premise that in the welfare of all lies the welfare of the individual. 'Live and let others live'
This shloka is short, crisp and becomes very handy while writing ethics answers and essay. Use this in gs4 questions of compassion towards the weaker sections, women, themes dealing with environmental ethics, conservation of forests, compassion towards wildlife, case studies which need compassion to help the destitute, vulnerable sections of society and essay on similar themes.
Please recommend our unique,first-of-its-kind initiative, the idea to use our ancient texts in examination to substantiate our viewpoint.
Long live India, long live Indians and long live 'Dev Bhasha'.
The above doha is of Rahim.
Those who didn't use their mind and those who didn't acquire knowledge, those who didn't perform their duties, those who didn't get name and fame, the birth of such persons on the planet is useless and they are a burden on the Earth. The difference between a person without education and animal is just of a tail.
Bottom line: Education helps a person to deal with ethical dilemmas, distinguish 'right' and 'wrong' ,understand his/her duties and performance of duties diligently leads to name and fame.So to contribute meaningfully to the society, education is hence,a sine qua non. Education improves the quality of life. Such an idea can be read into Article 21 which has enunciated the Right to life and liberty. Right to life is not just about 'animal existence' but a 'meaningful life','life with dignity' and to realise it education is one of the most potent weapon. The government should improve the standard of education and must ensure its availability for all.

You all must have heard doha given below :
करत-करत अभ्यास ते, जडमति होत सुजान। रसरी आवत जात तें, सिल पर परत निसान॥ But, can you tell whose doha is it:-
yadā yadā hi dharmasya glānir bhavati bhārata
abhyutthānam adharmasya tadātmānaṁ sṛijāmyaham
This shloka is taken from Bhagwad Gita,Chapter 4, Verse 7.
yadā yadā—whenever; hi—certainly; dharmasya—of righteousness; glāniḥ—decline; bhavati—is; bhārata—Arjun, descendant of Bharat; abhyutthānam—increase; adharmasya—of unrighteousness; tadā—at that time; ātmānam—self; sṛijāmi—manifest; aham—I
Whenever there is a decline in righteousness and an increase in unrighteousness, O Arjun, at that time I manifest myself on earth.
This is one the most famous shloka of Bhagwad Gita. It can be interpreted in many ways, however the interpretation most relevant from exam point of view has been mentioned.
Bottom line: Dharma is verily the prescribed actions that are conducive to our spiritual growth and progress; the reverse of this is adharma (unrighteousness). When unrighteousness prevails, the creator and administrator of the world intervenes by descending and reestablishing dharma. Dharma also means our prescribed duties, duties we have to perform,it may be towards parents, son, friends, society or so on.
So in the current scenario,we should understand that as long as righteousness prevails over unrighteousness or truth prevails over falsehood, there will be stability and balance in society. So we as individuals should adhere to Dharma or righteousness and hence contribute to build a healthy, prosperous society.
Use this in gs4 questions related to ethical conduct, righteousness, upholding duties as a civil servant in tough times, self-improvement and similar topics in essay.

This shloka is from Chanakya Neeti, Chapter 3, Verse 8.
It means though one be endowed with beauty and youth and born in noble families, yet without education they are like the Palasa flower which is void of sweet fragrance.
Bottom line: Education is a tool to sharpen the minds, blossom the personality and bring the best version of the individual from within. A person's beauty, attractiveness should be judged by his/her cognitive faculties. Hence, education is sine qua non for improving the quality of life and government should focus on it.
Use this in gs 1 questions of education, gs 2 questions of poverty, governance, gs 4 quotation based questions, case studies and essay on similar topics.

Long live India long live Indians and long live 'Dev Bhasha'.
This doha is of Saint Kabir Das.
It means that if a Guru ( Teacher) and the God are standing infront of you , then whose feet you will touch first and show respect? Then he says that Guru should be respected first as he affectionately teaches to know God by giving knowledge . Therefore Guru is more reverable than the God, as Guru facilitates the realisation of God.
Bottom line: As one needs a Guru to realise God, similarly to succeed in every field of life one should take advice of the experts. It becomes difficult to achieve success in respective fields without the experience and guidance of people who have excelled in that field.
Long live India, long live Indians and long live 'Dev Bhasha'.
Can you tell who said this doha? Brothers and sisters,it's time to fire your neurons
Our ancient texts have put 'guru' on a high pedestal. The humungous waves of globalisation, commercialization of education have eroded the esteemed place of 'guru'. This Guru Purnima let us thank all our teachers who have helped us to make a better version of ourselves.
This doha is given by Saint Kabir Das.
Do not condemn, chastise women, women are filled with qualities like precious stones are found in a mine. The very existence of men are dependent on women. Great men like Dhruv, Prahlad were born out of women.
Bottom line: Women have a equal and as important role as men have in society. Women should be given respect in society and only by doing that we can ensure a healthy and prosperous society.
Use this in gs 1 society questions of women, gs 2 representation of women in politics,gs 4 feminist ethics and essays on women empowerment.

Bhagwad Gita, Chapter 3,Verse 6.mp33.25 KB
karmendriyāṇi sanyamya ya āste manasā smaran
indriyārthān vimūḍhātmā mithyāchāraḥ sa uchyate
This shloka is of Bhagwad Gita, Chapter 3,Verse 6.
karma-indriyāṇi—the organs of action; sanyamya—restrain; yaḥ—who; āste—remain; manasā—in the mind; smaran—to remember; indriya-arthān—sense objects; vimūḍha-ātmā—the deluded; mithyā-āchāraḥ—hypocrite; saḥ—they; uchyate—are called
Those who restrain the external organs of action, while continuing to dwell on sense objects in the mind, certainly delude themselves and are to be called hypocrites.
Bottom line:Attracted by the lure of an ascetic life, people often renounce their work, only to discover later that their renunciation is not accompanied by an equal amount of mental and intellectual withdrawal from the sensual fields. This creates a situation of hypocrisy where one displays an external show of religiosity while internally living a life of ignoble sentiments and base motives. Hence, it is better to face the struggles of the world as a karm yogi, than to lead the life of a false ascetic. Running away from the problems of life by prematurely taking sanyās is not the way forward in the journey of the evolution of the soul. So to be spritual one need not necessarily lead an ascetic life. Even while leading a non- ascetic life one can be spiritually elevated by performing actions, duties but having a sense of detachment towards actions(fruits of action).
Use this in gs 4 questions of self-improvement,controlling desires, not succumbing to pressure in challenging times, sense of detachment towards perks, privileges as a civil servant, quotation based questions, case studies and similar topics in essay paper.

This shloka is from Hitopadesha, written by Sri Narayan Pandit in eighth century A.D.
Work gets accomplished by effort, industry, not merely wishing. As animals doesn't get into a sleeping lions mouth on its own.
Bottom line: To achieve success in life one has to make efforts and hence, one should shun inaction, complacency, procrastination. Even if one is talented, gifted, one has to put considerable efforts. The actions should be commensurate to the desired goal. One should always be willing to take on new responsibilities and should venture into new areas. Be a karmayogi.
Use this in gs4 questions of qualities of a civil servant, pro-active governance, quotation based questions, 'philosophy of life' topics, case studies and similar topics in essay paper.
