I am on site at the corner of Roper Street and Lynnwood Road today where a man tragically lost his life after falling into an open excavation. This did not have to happen. The DA has been raising concerns about the mismanagement of this project for months. In October 2025 Cllr Samantha de la Rey submitted a formal question to Council about the incomplete project and the lack of progress. On 29 June 2026 Cllr Tiaan Dippenaar and Cllr Siobhan Muller met with city officials and contractors on this very site. Cllr Dippenaar explicitly warned that the safety measures in place were inadequate to protect pedestrians along Lynnwood Road between Herold Street and University Road. Despite that clear warning this administration failed to act. This is a clear case of negligence. There needs to be accountability, and urgent action must be taken to secure the site and ensure that no one else is placed at risk.

She chose not to. ✅ The Speaker illegally denied DA and FF Plus councillors who were present in the Council chamber their right to vote. *THE LIES :* ❌ ActionSA claims 13 DA councillors were absent. 9 of these Councillors were present, but the Speaker refused to count their votes. ❌ ActionSA claims it opposed the suspension of the City Manager. Its own Mayor brought the report and could have withdrawn it. ❌ ActionSA blames the DA. ActionSA sold out the DA in 2024 and now governs Tshwane with the ANC and EFF. *WHAT HAPPENS NEXT:* 🔹 The DA is seeking legal advice to challenge this unlawful decision. 🔹 The DA will warn the Acting City Manager that every contract and procurement decision taken during this period will be reviewed by the DA.
