| 2 | ¿Somos realmente libres y soberanos?
Somos capaces de dirigir nuestras propias vidas, de pensar, de decidir y de participar en el futuro de nuestro país.
Sin embargo, hemos llegado a un punto en el que parece que quienes deberían representarnos terminan decidiendo por nosotros.
Los políticos no son nuestros dueños. Son representantes públicos que deben responder ante los ciudadanos.
¿Dónde quedan nuestros derechos fundamentales? ¿La libertad de circulación, la propiedad privada, la legítima defensa y nuestra capacidad de decidir sobre aquello que nos afecta?
¿Hasta qué punto conservamos nuestra soberanía cuando tantas decisiones se toman en instituciones alejadas de los ciudadanos, como las de Bruselas?
¿Y qué sucede con quienes decidimos abstenernos de votar?
En mi caso, la abstención no nace de la indiferencia ni del desinterés por España. Nace de una profunda discrepancia con el funcionamiento del sistema político actual.
No quiero limitar mi participación a elegir periódicamente a quienes después elaborarán las leyes que condicionan mi vida.
Quiero que podamos participar directamente en las decisiones y en las leyes que afectan a nuestro futuro.
Y mientras debatimos sobre intereses internacionales, conflictos y religiones, también me pregunto:
¿Dónde quedan nuestras raíces, nuestra historia y nuestra fe cristiana?
Respetar las creencias de los demás no significa renunciar a las nuestras.
No se trata de imponer una forma de pensar, sino de recuperar el valor de la libertad, la responsabilidad y la participación ciudadana.
Porque antes que cualquier ideología, somos personas.
Somos pueblo.
Y un pueblo libre debe poder preguntar, disentir, participar y exigir responsabilidades a quienes ejercen el poder.
«No quiero limitarme a elegir a quien hace las leyes. Quiero participar en las decisiones que afectan a mi vida».
