Repost from Under the Dogwood
The Nature of Truth
Haunted by echoes
Illusions covering up
Distracted from looking up
Naked spectacle
Beauty you can't unsee
Ugly yet necessary
Find the footing from
The ground that's sinking under
The clouds and the rolling thunder
It's all immovable
Til' the tower crumbles under
The world spins its web of wonder

As often happens with new projects, this one proved to be way harder than I expected, so I took my time playing around with ideas for the content and figuring out how to squeeze it all in so it would make sense narratively. Finally, I managed to get the second part out!

✨Emergence✨
A spring dogwood coming to life again after enduring a long winter.
Pyrography, colored pencil, and 24k gold leaf on live edge basswood. 2026
Repost from The End Of Everything
My ***NEW*** poetry reading.
'Gone, Gone Again' by the Welsh/English poet, Edward Thomas 1878—1917.
Repost from Solace Creations
Still a work in progress, but this one will be titled "Emergence."
There's something to be said about the way one goes about enduring the harsh cold winter and coming out the other side more resilient than ever.

The outline is finished! Next, I'll block in all of the darkest spots before adding color and gold leaf.

I'm finally back to work and oh how I've missed the smell of campfire that comes from burning images into wood! I've only just begun, but this will be the 2nd piece in my "Against the Odds" art collection!
Repost from Under the Dogwood
This was my first podcast appearance in over 3 years! I really enjoyed speaking with these ladies from Return to the Land.

While I'm ready for autumn, remnants of summer remind me that despite the obstacles we may encounter, life still goes on and we have to find ways to make the best of it, for both ourselves and our loved ones.
Even a butterfly with a broken wing will manage to fly from flower to flower, drinking the sweet nectar to continue its existence.

I found some wonderful treasures today at an old bookstore I haven't been to in years.
I often look for books that are pre-1914 but if I can find books pre-WWII, they will catch my eye if it's the right subject matter.
