Today, 30th of November we honor a great King here in Sweden: Carl XII - Carolus Rex. He kept the independence for Sweden and was much loved by his folk. With his great army, the Karolines, he protected Sweden from three alliances attacking Sweden at the same time.
Carl XII was reigning King from 1697 to 1718, and when he was going to be crowned in year 1697, he didn't let a bishop from the church to do it. Carl XII took the crown by himself and placed it on his head: "Crowned by God, not by the church".
