| 7 |  After the plandemic hit, and I had some time on lockdown to reflect on what was really going on, I started asking a deeper question.
Beyond the supposed boogeyman virus, what was the underlying psychological operation?
And then I saw it in technicolour.
The Child-Rebel Loop.
An archetypal trap that had people swinging between two extremes.
On one side were those standing obediently on stickers, sucking their thumbs, and doing as they were told.
On the other were those of us who refused to comply and raged against the machine.
Of course, the rage feels better. At least you’re standing up for something!
But rage is expensive. And it doesn’t last.
Sooner or later, you find yourself exhausted, back in that familiar “give no fucks” place.
Not because you changed your mind. Not because you suddenly believed the BS.
But because you had no juice left.
And that’s the trap.
The Child retreats. The Rebel rises up. The Rebel burns out. The Child retreats again.
Round and round we go, losing precious energy that could be going toward our actual purpose.
And the powers that ought not be are perfectly happy to have us stuck in either one.
So how do we recognize this loop, stop feeding it, and discover what happens when the Child and Rebel begin working together consciously?
That’s exactly what filmmaker, acting coach, and inner work expert Micah Ellars and I will be exploring in our FREE live event:

This week on Beth of Fresh Air, I’m sitting down with Micah Ellars for Originate—a look back at the experiences, interests, skills, choices and unexpected turns that eventually converged into the work he’s doing today.
Micah went from writing and directing films, acting, and coaching actors to discovering that acting mechanics and scene work could become incredibly powerful tools for people doing the work of remembering themselves.
We’ll trace that evolution and get into some fascinating territory along the way: mechanical and conscious acting, why someone who doesn’t care about being a “good actor” can sometimes be a better one, repetition as the mother of skill, extreme self-consciousness, the False Personalities acting through the moving and instinctive centre, and how archetypes give us a way to see the architecture underneath it all.
We’ll also talk about what Micah and I discovered in our first Self Remembering With Archetypes series, why we’re doing it again this October, and make a new announcement around the King archetype and real agency. 👑
