The Ganga Canal constructed from 1943 to 1954 is the longest man made canal. Dear Friends, As you are aware, the draft Indian Standard Criteria for Structural Safety of Tall Concrete Buildings (Draft Code on IS 16700) is currently on a wide circulation by Bureau of Indian Standards. IAStructE is organizing a webinar to understand and discuss the proposed revisions in the TALL CONCRETE BUILDING code, by inviting some of the industry experts who are code-users for a Panel Discussion. The webinar will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022, at 03.00 PM IST. The duration of the webinar shall be approximately 2.0 hours. The webinar will generally focus on the appraisal of the current code and the impact of proposed amendments to the code. Prof. Yogendra Singh, the keynote speaker will highlight the broad features of the current code including the proposed amendments and future codes for Tall Buildings which are in the pipeline. He will also highlight the expectations from the code committee for improvement. Other expert Panelists will cover the various sections and structure of the code, including interpretation, implications for practice, and their recommendations for further improvement.
