Urban forestry has become a very important topic for interview over the last few years. Focus on Nagar Van scheme, tree transplantation (esp in context of central vista), butterfly and biodiversity parks, Food forests in Uttarakhand, etc https://indianexpress.com/article/cities/delhi/severe-category-thunderstorm-why-did-so-many-

22nd May is Int'l Day for Biodiversity. I'll use it as an example to explain how you should prepare for interview. There are 4 levels of prep you'd require for a topic - 1) Standard prelims knowlege - terms like biodiversity/ hotspot/ coldspot/ hopespot/ biopiracy, hotspots in India, measures of BD, BD Act 2002, Nagoya and Cartagena protocols, TKDL, PPVFR Act, CBD, COP of CBD, Aichi targets, CITES, etc 2) Standard mains analysis - threats to BD, 2 reports on Western ghats, BD utilization vs IPR protection, GM crops vs BD, invasive alien species and their management, India's status on Aichi targets, India's stand on Kuala Lumpur amendment, CITES issues, etc 3) Profile-specific - BD endemic to your district/ state or mentioned in your DAF (e.g., Lion's club), its uses/ threats/ measures taken and required, state animal, birds and trees, any measures taken by your state like GIB breeding, vulture, etc 4) Delivering the above in a structured manner with examples and leading keywords - if you're asked to define biodiversity, you can say: Biodiversity is abbreviation for biological diversity or variety of life. Sec 2 of BDA 2002 defines BD as variability among living organisms at 3 levels - genetic level - every tiger has a unique stripe pattern - species level - tigers and lions have different structure and habits - eco-system level - Western Ghats are different from Thar. BD is important for its extrinsic benefits, but also for its intrinsic value since it provides resilience to an ecosystem. Note how the definition is structured into 3 parts, cites BDA to sound authoritative, gives simple examples of each of 3 parts, emphasizes its non-materialistic intrinsic importance. It's also full of leading keywords to invite more questions in areas like tiger, lion, BDA, Western ghats which you've prepared. Finally it ends on a point of analysis since there's high probability of next question from the last point of your answer.
