3️⃣ Things that will decide the market today 📈
🔴 Gift Nifty traded 15 points higher at 21,560 signalling that the Indian Stock Market is headed for a positive start today.
🔴 The U.S. market ended significantly high on Thursday, especially in the S&P 500 index, which reached its highest ever, closing at 0.88%. This surge was driven by positive expectations about AI, leading to gains in Nvidia and other chipmakers. The Dow Jones closed higher with 0.54% gains while the Nasdaq gained 1.35%.
🔴 India VIX declines by 6.70%, to the level of 14.07, indicating cool off in the volatility.
3️⃣ Things that will decide the market today 📈
· Gift Nifty traded 32.5 points lower at 21,417 signalling that the Indian Stock Market is headed for a negative start today.
· The U.S. market closed negative after positive retail sales data for December indicated that the Federal Reserve may not start lowering the interest rates as soon as expected. S&P 500 fell to its lowest in over a week. Treasury yield rose to over 4.1%, its highest level this year. Nasdaq closed at 0.59% and Dow Jones lower with 0.25% drop.
· India VIX jumped by 11.11%, to the level of 15.08, indicating heavy volatility on the back of sell-offs and profit booking.
