Dominion Tank Police Gung-ho comedic over-the-top violence set in the gritty futuristic city coated in the cloud of toxic bacteria. Artificial humans and the everlasting questioning "What really makes us human?" One of Masamune Shirow's earlier works, 4 years before he created the iconic Ghost in the Shell, really serves as a precursor in both themes and art. Also, it seems that it has had a long-reaching impact on other anime and video games. Patlabor sure drew a lot of water from this well, as well (heh) as Metal Slug. I'm sure some of you have thought about how that little tank looks a bit familiar. Amazing, colorful animation, even in all its 480p glory, makes you ask questions about what happened to modern anime (even though we all know what). This anime just breaths the 80s with its music - an absolute banger of an OP and a few amazing insert songs. I urge you to go on YouTube and search "Dominion Tank Police - Hey Boy" RIGHT NOW. Overall, quite a piece of anime history, undeservedly obscure.
