GUNNM Straight out of the Golden Age of OVAs, comes a short adaptation of a cult classic junkpunk action manga, known in the West as Battle Angel Alita. In just 2 episodes we are completely immersed into the grime and violence of the Undercity - rust and decay, bandits killing for human organs, bounty hunters, gladiator fights. All in the shadow of a White City in The Sky. All filled with the more raw 80s aesthetics. As usual, we're seeing great all hand-drawn animation, moody soundtrack to match the background and a story of delusional dreams, inability to let go of the past. It is truly a shame GUNNM never got a proper anime adaptation, it very well could've been set in stone alongside other 90s masterpieces. I've read the manga a long time ago, and I remember enjoying it very much. I guess I should reread it soon. And I recommend you give it a go too, manga or anime.
