On October 27, Israelis will head to the polls. But unlike in the US, they're not voting directly for their next prime minister. They're voting for political parties.
So how does Israel choose its next government?

What AJ+ never tells you is who is making that argument. AJ+ is Al Jazeera, and Al Jazeera is owned and funded by the government of Qatar, a country with human rights abuses.

But no claim of occupation gives anyone the right to murder civilians, rape, or take hostages. International law explicitly prohibits these acts.

The IDF says the teen was killed by an unexploded bomblet from a Hezbollah cluster bomb.
Cluster bombs are illegal because they scatter bomblets over a wide area, and the ones that don’t explode can kill anyone who finds them, sometimes years later.
Hezbollah fired these weapons indiscriminately, targeting civilian areas and IDF bases alike.
So why won’t the media name who did it?

| 8 |  CNN’s Jeremy Diamond turned the deaths of 40 hostages in Hamas captivity into an indictment of Israel.
Hamas kidnapped them. Hamas held them captive. Hamas executed hostages as Israeli troops approached.
But CNN found a way to blame Israel for Hamas pulling the trigger.
Every single one of those hostages should still be alive. Hamas bears responsibility for putting them in danger in the first place.

| 10 | Hiroshima and Nagasaki killed well over 100,000 people, yet no major human rights organization calls it genocide. Why? Because genocide is about intent: a project to eradicate a people. After Japan surrendered, America occupied it, helped rebuild it, and by 1952, it was an ally.
Compare that to Gaza, where “genocide” is now used freely.
Israel has not committed genocide in Gaza. Facilitating the transfer of food, humanitarian aid, and vaccinations is undeniable proof of that.
Changing the definition of genocide to mean “a lot of death in war” dishonors victims of actual genocides and erases the truth about the war against Hamas.

That was before October 7th. On October 8th, much of the Jewish world woke up to what she'd been watching for years, as friends, coworkers, even spouses started chanting "globalize the intifada."
So what do we do now? Horn says we've been fighting antisemitism the wrong way. It isn't a prejudice. It's a lie, and you beat a lie by asking who profits from it.
Her advice to every student facing a crowd chanting slogans: You can answer back. "You don't need a PhD to defeat an argument that's three words long." What you need is courage.
