Since I KNOW FOR A FACT one cannot “opt out” of paying federal taxes, I posted the legal procedure one must follow to stop paying federal taxes - I did it 12 years ago and since then haven’t paid a dime. Disclosure: My last employer demanded to withhold federal taxes as condition of employment, because of dumb HR staff, and I agreed but signed all IRS forms under duress.
