US actress Angelina Jolie visited the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing with Gaza on Friday. Jolie, the former special envoy for the UN refugee agency, made the visit to see the condition of injured Palestinians transferred to Egypt and to look into aid deliveries into the besieged territory. Under the terms of the ceasefire, Israel is required to reopen the Rafah border crossing into Gaza but has so far refused to, claiming that Hamas would use it for military purposes.
