M7.7 Earthquake Rocks Panama | 256 Aftershocks in Just 45 Hours
🟢 Watch on Rumble
🔴 https://youtu.be/sNLf_h26zSs
❗️On October 9, at 12:56 p.m. local time, a powerful earthquake struck Panama. According to the Institute of Geosciences at the University of Panama, it had a magnitude of 7.5 and a focal depth of about 2.5 miles. The epicenter was located approximately 24 miles northwest of the town of Tonosí, in Los Santos Province. The United States Geological Survey estimated the magnitude at 7.7 and the depth at 7.8 miles.
📣 Against a backdrop of changing climatic and geodynamic conditions, it is useful to understand in advance which natural hazards are characteristic of your region and how to respond if the situation becomes dangerous. Simple preparations — knowing the basic recommendations and keeping a small supply of essential items at home — can prove very important in an emergency.

🟢 Watch on Rumble
🔴 https://youtu.be/0gDDuVPQAp8
🔥 On the evening of October 9, Category Two Hurricane Isaias made landfall near Destin, Florida, with sustained winds of approximately 105 miles per hour. At least four people died in Florida and Alabama.
📣 A disaster does not end when the wind dies down and the water recedes: its effects can continue to disrupt people’s daily lives long afterward, leaving them without electricity and safe drinking water.
That is why it is important to keep a supply of clean water, food, and essential medications, and to know how to respond when basic utilities are disrupted and how to administer first aid. As climate anomalies become significantly more pronounced, this kind of preparedness is becoming increasingly necessary. | 106 |
| 3 | ALLATRA Team Participates in The Ocean Awakens During Climate Week NYC
🌊 On September 21, 2026, the ALLATRA team attended The Ocean Awakens, organized by Plastic Odyssey aboard the historic Wavertree at the South Street Seaport Museum in Manhattan, New York City.
The event brought together researchers, entrepreneurs, investors, environmental advocates, and artists to explore practical solutions for the ocean. Discussions ranged from wind-powered shipping and ocean investment to plastic pollution, health, and policy. A startup showcase, films, and live art performances offered further perspectives on ocean protection.
Throughout the event, the ALLATRA team interviewed guests about the ocean’s role in our lives and the growing challenge of micro- and nanoplastic pollution, including its implications for ecosystems and human health.
The conversations explored what it will take to address this challenge, from scientific research and materials innovation to corporate responsibility, policy, and community action. Guests also shared the personal experiences that inspired their work and what gives them hope for the ocean’s future.
Bonnie Monteleone, co-founder of Plastic Ocean Project, emphasized the need for cooperation:
“It's not going to just be non-profits that solve this. It's policy. It's corporation responsibility. It's all the pieces coming together in order to solve this very, very large problem called microplastics.”
Across interviews and informal conversations, a common theme emerged: the ocean is inseparable from human life, and protecting its future means protecting our own.
🙏 ALLATRA expresses its appreciation to Plastic Odyssey, the South Street Seaport Museum, and all interview participants for the opportunity to exchange perspectives and highlight the work being undertaken to protect the ocean.

🔥In the second half of September, Hurricane Polo rapidly intensified over the eastern Pacific Ocean and became one of the fastest-intensifying cyclones in the region. From September 22 through 25, it reached Category Five three times. In 24 hours, wind speeds increased by 95 knots — approximately 109 miles per hour. According to NOAA’s preliminary assessment, this was the third-largest 24-hour increase on record in the eastern Pacific Ocean. Over the same period, central pressure dropped by 2.6 inches of mercury — a faster drop was recorded only during Hurricane Patricia in 2015. At its peak, Polo had sustained winds of about 177 miles per hour and a central pressure of 26.4 inches of mercury.

🟢 Watch on Rumble
🔴 https://youtu.be/jHsE1pTH8WY
🔥 Flooded streets, eroded beaches, and widespread power outages were the aftermath of a powerful nor’easter that struck the northeastern United States on September 25. These storms along the eastern coast of North America usually develop in late fall and winter, making the September event unusual: fewer than two percent of such storms occur during this month.
For several days, the storm moved slowly along the coast. Five densely populated states were particularly hard hit: New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts.
📣 Climate events are increasingly occurring outside their usual seasons and exceeding the parameters familiar to specialists. Preparation must therefore be more thorough and account for the possibility of unexpected behavior. This is important both for services responsible for public safety and for specialists who study these phenomena. | 222 |

🟢 Watch on Rumble
🔴 https://youtu.be/AIiSTw8CORg
🔥 From September 19th through 22nd, eastern Japan was struck by Typhoon Number Twenty-Five, Dujuan. Although the center of the storm did not pass directly over Japan’s main islands, it moved across the Izu Islands and along the Boso Peninsula, bringing record rainfall, flooding, and numerous landslides.
Chiba and Kanagawa prefectures were hit particularly hard. According to the latest figures, twelve people were killed and three remain missing.
❗️ Natural disasters increasingly threaten the entire food supply chain, from crops still ripening in the fields to produce already harvested and stored. As extreme events grow in scale and intensity, and longstanding weather records are broken more often, the shift to new production and storage technologies designed for an unstable climate is becoming particularly urgent. | 247 |
