Who is the backbone of EMSA-AA?
Projects? Noooo.
Donors? We wish we had many... Or any. 😅
The true backbone of EMSA-AA has always been you — our members. ❤️
Every campaign, every initiative, every achievement starts with students who choose to show up, contribute, and lead. EMSA is built by the people who give their time, creativity, and passion to make things happen. ✨
I’m Abel Mekonnen, Old C2 at TASH, and I’m running for Vice President for Members because I believe EMSA’s greatest strength is its people.
✅Throughout my medical school journey, I have been fortunate to serve in different roles — Director of Public Relations at Rotaract Fanos, Vice Director of EMSA SCORA, SSC Representative of SCORP, while also engaging in research, coordinating capacity-building sessions, and being part of the Aspire Leaders Program.
...But honestly, the titles were never the most memorable part... Really. What I remember most are the late discussions, the teamwork, the small victories, the lessons from projects that did not go as planned, the ideas that remained dreams, and most importantly — the incredible people I met along the way. Those moments and connections are what make EMSA special. Looking back, I can only say: what a blessing it has been! 🙏
As your candidate for Vice President for Members my priorities are:
🤝 Meaningful member engagement
🏡 A culture of belonging
💬 Better communication between members and leadership
🌱 Supporting every member’s growth
Because leadership is not about titles or projects; it is about building the people who create the future. 🚀
Together, let’s strengthen the heart of EMSA-AA — its members.

Medical school doesn't end at the hospital gates our biggest opportunities wait right beyond them.
To the entire EMSA-AA Family, I’m Raniya Murad (C1), officially announcing my candidacy for Vice President of External Affairs (VPE-AA)! 🚀
Starting out as a Seferselam official under SCORA and collaborating with various external health associations showed me firsthand what happens when medical students get access to bigger networks: we thrive. Experiencing how strong external ties can turn ideas into real community impact inspired me to step up to a higher platform to ensure those doors stay wide open for every single one of us to become MORE THAN A STUDENT.
My Vision? To make EMSA-AA an absolute powerhouse of external opportunities! I envision an association backed by broader partnerships, high-impact NGO collaborations, and seamless access to national platforms and research networks ensuring our collective voice is heard with zero gatekeeping and equal growth for every member. 🤝
What I’m bringing to the table:
Bigger Partnerships: Unlocking internships, project grants, and external ties to expand our reach beyond the campus.
Fair & Transparent Access: Creating clear selection processes for national assemblies, exchanges, and workshops so everyone gets a fair shot at stepping up.
Bold Representation: Ensuring EMSA-AA is represented with confidence, excellence, and purpose on every external stage.
Let’s stop waiting for opportunities to come to us—let's build the bridges and claim them together! 😉
🗳️ Vote Raniya Murad for Vice President of External Affairs!
