FBReader 4.0 beta 121 for Android After a year’s pause, the beta branch is back — and we plan to keep it active. This release includes everything from stable version 3.8.28, plus two additions: PDF rendering now uses PDFium, and TTS replacement patterns can contain spaces. The switch to PDFium is a significant under-the-hood change that opens the door to new PDF features. It may also introduce compatibility issues, so please report any problems you encounter — especially if bookmarks created in PDF documents with older FBReader versions go missing after the update. The beta branch is back for a reason. Over the coming months, we’ll use it to test larger changes before they reach the stable version. Our immediate focus is PDF support; we’re also working on a new generation of synchronisation and online catalogue features. Beta feedback is always especially valuable. Thank you for testing.

2	FBReader 3.8.28 for Android This update fixes a few annoying UI issues. The reading screen now properly respects Android system gestures, and book covers load more smoothly in the library view. We’ve also removed the LitRes catalogue integration. It no longer made much sense to keep it around. Instead, users in selected countries will now see links to Readino, our EPUB ebook store. 3	Today we’re launching Readino on Product Hunt. Readino is an independent EPUB ebook store built around the same ideas as FBReader: books should remain accessible across compatible apps and devices, rather than being tied to a single platform. If you’ve used FBReader over the years, we’d really appreciate your support. An upvote on Product Hunt costs nothing, but it genuinely helps both Readino and FBReader continue to grow and evolve.	816
4	Note: the announcement below is only relevant to users of the Russian-language ebook store ЛитРес, so it is published in Russian only. Важная информация для пользователей FBReader и ЛитРес Интеграция ЛитРес в FBReader больше не работает. Со стороны FBReader никаких изменений, отключающих эту функциональность, не производилось. Работа интеграции прекратилась после изменений на стороне ЛитРес. В результате больше недоступны: • вход в аккаунт ЛитРес из FBReader; • просмотр каталога ЛитРес; • покупка и загрузка книг ЛитРес через приложение. Кроме того, по сообщениям наших пользователей, некоторые книги, ранее доступные для чтения в FBReader, теперь предоставляются ЛитРес только в формате FB3, который не поддерживается FBReader и большинством других независимых читалок. Если это ещё возможно, мы рекомендуем сохранить ранее купленные в ЛитРес книги на вашем компьютере или телефоне, чтобы и дальше читать их в той программе, которую вы предпочитаете. Поскольку признаков возможного улучшения ситуации сейчас нет, в ближайшее время мы уберём ссылку на каталог ЛитРес из программы.
