Pi Day हर साल 14 मार्च (3/14) को मनाया जाता है। यह दिन गणित के महत्वपूर्ण स्थिरांक π (पाई) को समर्पित है। π (Pi) क्या है? π एक गणितीय स्थिरांक है जो किसी भी वृत्त (circle) की परिधि (circumference) और व्यास (diameter) के अनुपात को दर्शाता है। π का मान लगभग 3.14159… होता है और यह अनंत (infinite) तथा non-repeating दशमलव है। Pi Day क्यों 14 मार्च को? तारीख 3/14 होती है जो π के पहले तीन अंक 3.14 से मेल खाती है। रोचक तथ्य यह दिन पहली बार 1988 में Larry Shaw ने Exploratorium में मनाया था। United States House of Representatives ने 2009 में इसे आधिकारिक तौर पर National Pi Day घोषित किया। इसी दिन महान वैज्ञानिक Albert Einstein का जन्मदिन भी है।
