The University of Delhi improved its position from sixth place in 2024 to fifth place in 2025. Jawaharlal Nehru University retained its second position, while Jamia Millia Islamia ranked fourth among universities. The NIRF ranking framework evaluates institutions on various parameters such as Teaching, Learning and Resources (TLR), Research and Professional Practice (RP), Graduation Outcomes (GO), Outreach and Inclusivity (OI), and Perception (PR). In the colleges category, Delhi University continued to dominate the rankings. Hindu College secured the first position, followed by Miranda House in second place.
