| 3 |  🗓 17 ANNI FA LA STRAGE DI VIAREGGIO
Il 29 giugno del 2009, alle 23.48, il treno merci 50325, con il suo convoglio di quattordici carri cisterna, deragliò in corrispondenza del sovrappasso pedonale che scavalcava il fascio binari Sud della stazione ferroviaria di Viareggio.
Quattro carri cisterna uscirono dai binari tra cui uno che subì un danno che provocò una fuoriuscita di GPL.
L'innesco immediato del gas, causò un incendio di vastissime proporzioni che interessò la stessa stazione e le aree circostanti.
Furono circa 300 i Vigili del fuoco inviati sul posto, giunti da tutta la Toscana e da altri Comandi come i nuclei NBCR (Roma, Milano e Venezia) per domare le fiamme e soccorrere le persone coinvolte.
I Vigili intervenuti lavorarono in condizioni di rischio elevatissimo e a temperature elevate.
Il bilancio definitivo fu di 32 vittime e decine di feriti.
