You Are My Hiding Place "You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance." (Psalm 32:7, NKJV) David does not say, "You will remove every trial from my life," but rather, "You are my hiding place." There is a profound difference. God does not always promise the absence of storms, but He does promise His presence in the midst of them. A hiding place does not always remove the danger immediately; it protects those who run into it. This psalm was written after David's repentance. For a time he tried to hide his sin, but when he confessed it before God, he discovered that the Lord was not only his Judge but also his refuge. Many people try to hide from God, yet true safety is found in hiding in God. The Hebrew word for "hiding place" carries the idea of a secret shelter, a protected place concealed from danger. When the enemy's accusations grow louder, when circumstances become overwhelming, and when the heart is burdened with fear and anxiety, the Holy Spirit invites us to run into the presence of the Lord. There we find peace, strength, and restoration. David continues, "You shall surround me with songs of deliverance." Notice that he speaks of songs, not just one song. God does more than rescue His children; He fills their lives with testimonies of His faithfulness. Where there were tears, He brings praise. Where there was fear, He brings confidence. Where there was defeat, He places a new song upon the lips of His people. Perhaps today you feel surrounded by troubles, spiritual battles, or discouragement. Remember that your refuge is not a doctrine, a church building, or a human being—your refuge is God Himself. Enter His presence, pour out your heart before Him, and you will discover that the walls of your refuge will soon echo with songs of deliverance. When the world sees only the problem, faith sees a hiding place. When the enemy announces defeat, God prepares a victory song. INCREASE YOUR POWER Isaiah 40:29 says, “[The Lord] gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.” God gives His strength to those who recognize their need for Him. The Lord does not promise strength to the self-sufficient, the proud, or those who think they can handle everything on their own. Instead, He promises power to the weak and increased strength to those who admit they have none. The Christian life, especially spiritual growth, is a paradox. To become strong, we must first admit our weakness. This may seem strange because the world teaches us to hide our weaknesses and display our strengths. People often pretend they have everything under control, even when they are struggling inside. Jesus showed us a different way. He was Almighty God, yet He came into the world as a helpless infant. He was the Ruler of the universe, yet He allowed sinful men to arrest Him and crucify Him. He taught His followers that true greatness comes through humility and service. In Matthew 20:26, Jesus said that whoever wants to become great must become a servant. Why is admitting our weaknesses the doorway to experiencing God's strength? Because as long as we depend on ourselves, we leave little room for God to work. When we acknowledge our limitations, we begin to trust His wisdom, power, and guidance. Our weakness becomes the place where God's strength is revealed. Many people are only honest with God during a crisis. After trying everything else and failing, they finally pray and say, “Lord, I need Your help.” God answers, strengthens them, and carries them through. But once the crisis passes, they return to trusting themselves. Real spiritual growth happens when we depend on God every day, not just during emergencies. Every morning we should pray, “Lord, I need Your wisdom and strength today. Help me in every situation I face.” What are some areas of weakness in your life today? Perhaps you struggle with fear, impatience, anger, worry, temptation, or discouragement. Maybe you feel weak in your faith, relationships, health, or finances. Instead of hiding these weaknesses, bring them to God. Remember this truth: God uses people who are weak enough to lean on Him. He never promised a trouble-free life, but He promised to carry our burdens when we bring them to Him in prayer. Do not be ashamed of your weakness. Bring it before God. He will replace your weakness with His strength, your fear with His peace, and your limitations with His power. RECEIVING THE PROMISE Hebrews 10:36 (NKJV) says, “For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.” This verse reveals an important truth about God's promises. Many people desire the promises of God, but they do not understand that there is often a process between the promise and its fulfillment. God gives the promise, but He also develops our character, faith, and trust while we wait. Hebrews 10:36 teaches that endurance is necessary if we are to receive what God has promised. No matter what promise you are believing God for, you have three important responsibilities: faith, endurance, and obedience. Faith Faith means holding firmly to your confidence that God will do exactly what He has promised. There will be times when your circumstances seem to say the opposite. Your emotions may tell you to give up. Your understanding may not see a way forward. Yet faith chooses to trust God anyway. Abraham is a great example of faith. God promised him a son, but many years passed before the promise was fulfilled. Despite the delays, Abraham continued to believe that God was faithful to His word. In the same way, you must trust that God is working even when you cannot see immediate results. Endurance Endurance means staying on the path God has given you. It means refusing to quit when trials, delays, and difficulties come. Many people start well but become discouraged while waiting. However, God's Word says you need endurance. Endurance is not simply waiting; it is remaining faithful while you wait. It is continuing to pray, trust, worship, and obey even when the answer seems delayed. God often uses the waiting season to strengthen your faith and prepare you for the blessing He has promised. Obedience Obedience means allowing God to guide your life step by step. Sometimes God will lead you in ways that do not make sense to you at first. However, obedience requires trust. You believe that God's wisdom is greater than your own understanding. Every step of obedience brings you closer to God's purpose. As you follow His guidance, He directs your path toward the fulfillment of His promises. Be victorious during this season of waiting. Do not allow frustration or doubt to take control of your heart. Continue to trust God. Continue to endure. Continue to obey. God has always been faithful to His people. Just as He fulfilled His promises to those who trusted Him in the past, He will also fulfill His promises to you. His timing is perfect, and His word never fails. “So I was encouraged, because the hand of the LORD my God was upon me” (Book of Ezra 7:28, NKJV) There are moments in life when everything feels heavy: opposition, weariness, disappointments, inner battles. Even those who love God go through seasons where the heart grows tired and strength seems to fade away. Yet Ezra declared something powerful: “I was encouraged, because the hand of the LORD… was upon me.” Ezra’s encouragement did not come from favorable circumstances. It did not come from people. It was not based on an easy path. It came from the awareness that the hand of God was upon his life. The hand of God represents His presence, protection, guidance, favor, and supernatural strength. When the hand of God rests upon a person, even in the wilderness they find water; even in the battle they find peace; even in weakness they find strength. God’s hand does not always remove the battle, but it sustains you in the middle of the battle. Ezra had to spiritually restore Jerusalem. He had to rebuild a wounded people and bring them back to the Word of God. It was a mission far greater than human ability. But that is exactly where the hand of the Lord intervened. God delights in sustaining those who choose to live for His glory. Many today are discouraged because they look too much at their own resources and too little at the hand of God. Peter began to sink when he looked at the wind, but he stood while his eyes were on Jesus. The enemy wants to convince you that you are alone, that you will not make it, that your battle is too heavy. But if the hand of the Lord is upon you, you carry more strength than you realize. True power is not having a life without problems, but having God upon your life. Moses had the sea before him and Pharaoh behind him, yet the hand of God opened a way where there was none. David was small before Goliath, but the hand of God turned a stone into victory. The apostles were ordinary men, but when the hand of the Holy Spirit came upon them, the world was shaken. Maybe today you feel weak, empty, or overwhelmed. But the Holy Spirit reminds you: the hand of God has not been removed from your life. Even when you cannot see it, He is working. He is sustaining your mind, guarding your heart, and preparing your path. Do not let discouragement speak louder than the presence of God. Whoever carries the hand of the Lord upon them can walk through the fire without being consumed and walk through the night without losing hope. God’s Eyes Were Upon Them “But the eye of their God was upon the elders of the Jews, so that they could not make them cease till a report could go to Darius. Then a written answer was returned concerning this matter.” — Ezra 5:5 (NKJV) What a powerful picture. The people had finally begun rebuilding the house of God after years of delay, fear, and discouragement. The moment they started obeying again, opposition immediately arose—questions, pressure, accusations, and attempts to stop the work. The enemy wanted the rebuilding to die once more. But Scripture says something beautiful: the eye of their God was upon them. It does not say there were no attacks. It does not say the path became easy. But while men were watching to accuse them, God was watching to protect them. While the enemy searched for reasons to stop the work, the Lord was guarding His purpose so it could continue. This is often how spiritual life works. When you were spiritually asleep, the enemy left you alone. But the moment you began praying again, seeking holiness, worshipping deeply, and serving God seriously, battles suddenly appeared. Weariness, pressure, confusion, resistance. These are signs that something spiritual is rising again inside you. The most touching part is that the elders kept building even before the king’s answer arrived. They continued the work while the situation was still uncertain. That is true faith. They did not wait for human approval before moving forward. They knew that the eye of God was greater than the approval of men. There are seasons when you still do not have the answer you are waiting for. The breakthrough has not come yet. The miracle has not appeared yet. The deliverance has not fully manifested yet. But if God’s eyes are upon you, you can keep building. You can keep praying. You can keep believing. Because what is born from God cannot be destroyed by man. Maybe today you feel watched, judged, or opposed. But remember this: there is a greater gaze over your life. The eyes of the Lord are not upon you to condemn you, but to sustain you, protect you, and complete the work He began in you. Do not stop now. Keep building even with trembling hands. Keep worshipping in the middle of the battle. Keep serving under pressure. Because when the eye of God rests upon a work, no human decree can destroy what Heaven has approved.

The world tells us to appear strong, confident, and independent at all times. People often hide their weaknesses because they fear being judged or rejected. However, the life of Jesus teaches a different lesson. Jesus was Almighty God, yet He came into the world as a helpless baby. He was the King of kings, yet He humbled Himself and served others. He was the Lord of the universe, yet He allowed sinful people to arrest Him, mock Him, and crucify Him. Jesus also taught His followers that greatness comes through serving others. In Matthew 20:26, He said that whoever wants to become great must become a servant. God's kingdom works differently from the world's system. Many people spend their lives trying to avoid weakness. When they feel vulnerable, they try to act powerful. But for believers, refusing to admit weakness can stop God's transforming work in their lives. When we pretend we have everything under control, we leave little room for God to work. Honesty about our weaknesses may feel uncomfortable, but it opens the door to God's truth, freedom, and power. When we admit our need for Him, we begin to experience His strength in ways we never could on our own. Unfortunately, many people only become honest with God during a crisis. But once the crisis ends, they return to relying on themselves again. Real spiritual growth happens when we develop a daily dependence on God. Every day we should pray, "Lord, I need Your wisdom, strength, and guidance today. Help me." God delights in answering that prayer. He does not turn away those who depend on Him. Instead, He increases their strength. If you want God's power in your life, do not hide your weakness. Bring it to Him. His strength is made perfect in weakness, and He will give you all the power you need for today. LEARNING FROM CHALLENGES Exodus 4:15 says, “....I will teach you what you are to do.” These words were spoken by God to Moses when he felt overwhelmed by the assignment God had given him. Moses was afraid. He doubted his abilities and questioned whether he was the right person for the task. He focused on his weaknesses and limitations. Yet God did not abandon him. Instead, God assured Moses that He would teach him what to do. This reveals an important truth about God's character. God does not always give us all the answers at once. Often, He calls us to trust Him step by step. When we do not know what to do, He promises to guide us. When we feel inadequate, He promises to teach us. God's guidance is not only about solving problems; it is also about developing our faith and character. Are you feeling confused today because of the issues you face? Are you struggling with difficult decisions, unanswered questions, or unexpected trials? Many believers experience such seasons. However, these moments are often signs that God is preparing to reveal Himself to you in a new way. God has a special plan for your life. The choices, questions, and challenges before you are not random. They have been allowed for a purpose. They are helping shape you into the person God created you to be. Through them, you learn to depend on Him more deeply than before. Through them, your faith grows stronger and your character becomes more mature. Sometimes people assume that every difficulty is a punishment from God. They think, I am suffering because I made mistakes. While mistakes can bring consequences, believers must remember a wonderful truth: when Jesus is your Savior, God forgives you completely. Romans 8:1 says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.” God is not looking for ways to punish His children. Instead, He works through life's challenges to prepare them for greater blessings and greater responsibility. The struggles you face today may be training for the opportunities of tomorrow. The lessons you learn now may become the foundation for future success. God sees your future even when you cannot. Take time to examine the questions, decisions, and difficulties before you. Ask yourself: In what new way is God teaching me to trust Him? How is He developing my faith? This is your opportunity to respond with faith and obedience. Trust God's process. He knows exactly what He is doing. Just as He taught Moses, He will teach you. KEEP GETTING UP Proverbs 24:16 (NIV) says, “Though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.” This is one of the most encouraging promises in the Bible. It does not say that righteous people never fall. Instead, it acknowledges that they do fall. They face disappointments, mistakes, failures, setbacks, and challenges. However, what makes them different is that they refuse to stay down. They get up again. God never measures your life by how many times you fall. He looks at whether you trust Him enough to rise again. The righteous person is not perfect. The righteous person is someone who continues to depend on God and keeps moving forward despite difficulties. Whenever you fail, whether in your relationships, business, Christian walk, career, or any other area of life, it can feel as though your world has fallen apart. Failure can be painful and discouraging. It can make you question yourself and your future. However, you must understand this important truth: your failure does not define you. Failure reveals your limitations, weaknesses, and blind spots, but it does not determine your value or your destiny. In many ways, failure can become a teacher. It can show you where you need wisdom, growth, and greater dependence on God. When you experience failure, do not waste the lesson. Instead, pray, “Lord, show me why I failed. Teach me what I need to learn. Help me rise again and trust You more.” The Holy Spirit can use even your mistakes to shape your character and strengthen your faith. What the enemy meant to discourage you, God can use to prepare you for greater success. One of the greatest dangers is allowing fear of failure to stop you from trying again. If you refuse to take risks because you fear disappointment, you may miss the opportunities God has prepared for you. You may never experience the joy and fulfillment that come from walking in God's purpose. The key is not avoiding failure; the key is getting back up. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Continue obeying Him. Continue trusting Him. Continue moving forward. God created you with the ability to fulfill His purpose for your life. He will guide you, strengthen you, and help you succeed according to His plan. Every setback can become a stepping stone when you place it in God's hands. So no matter how many times you fall, do not stay down. Do not give up. Keep getting up. Keep trusting. Keep believing. STABILITY IN THE CHAOS John 16:33 says, “In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” These words were spoken by Jesus shortly before His arrest, suffering, and crucifixion. He knew that His disciples were about to face fear, confusion, disappointment, and uncertainty. Everything they had hoped for seemed as though it would fall apart. Yet Jesus prepared them in advance. He told them that trouble would come, but He also gave them a reason to remain strong: He had already overcome the world. Difficult times are a part of life. Jesus never promised a life without challenges. Instead, He promised His presence, His peace, and His victory in the middle of those challenges. The disciples would soon witness chaos unlike anything they had experienced before. Their Master would be arrested, condemned, and crucified. Yet Jesus wanted them to remember that none of these events were outside of God's plan. It is natural to feel fearful when everything appears chaotic. No one enjoys feeling out of control. We like stability. We want a firm place to stand and something solid to hold onto. When life becomes uncertain, fear often tries to take over our hearts. However, during such times, we must remind ourselves of one powerful truth: God has a plan, and He is in control. Nothing you are experiencing today is a surprise to God. He sees your struggles, your disappointments, and your uncertainties. He knows every detail of your situation. Before His suffering, Jesus told His disciples, “An hour is coming, and has already come, for you to be scattered” (John 16:32). He knew exactly what was about to happen. Then He said, “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace” (John 16:33). In other words, when chaos comes, remember that God already knows about it. What seems confusing to you is not confusing to Him. The disciples learned this lesson three days later. What appeared to be their greatest defeat became their greatest victory. Jesus rose from the dead. The resurrection proved that God can bring life out of death, hope out of despair, and stability out of chaos. Friend, God is in control of everything happening in your life today. Your circumstances may seem overwhelming, but they are not beyond His power. Take courage. Trust His plan. Hold firmly to Him, and you will see His purposes fulfilled in your life. Even when you cannot see the way forward, God can. “Lord, to Whom Shall We Go?” “But Simon Peter answered Him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.’” — Bible 6:68 (NKJV) It was a moment of crisis around Jesus. Many were walking away from Him. His words were too deep, too demanding, too spiritual for a crowd that only wanted miracles and bread. Then Jesus looked at the twelve and asked a question that still pierces hearts today: “Do you also want to go away?” Peter answered. He did not say, “We understand everything.” He did not say, “Following You is easy.” He did not say, “We have no doubts.” Instead, he said: “Lord, to whom shall we go?” Peter had understood a powerful truth: outside of Christ there is no one who can truly give life to the human soul. The world offers distractions, but not healing. It offers temporary pleasures, but not lasting peace. It offers noise, but not refreshment for a weary spirit. Today many people seek refreshment in relationships, social media, work, money, compromises, or hidden sins. But after the temporary excitement fades, emptiness remains. Only Jesus can satisfy the deep hunger of the spirit. The “refreshing” found in God’s presence is not just emotional relief: it is supernatural restoration. It is when the Holy Spirit descends upon a tired heart and brings divine order within. It is when God’s presence wipes away tears that nobody else sees. It is when, even in the middle of battle, you still carry peace inside. Peter was essentially saying: “Lord, maybe we do not understand everything… but we know that without You we die inside.” This is the difference between religion and relationship. Religion follows God when convenient. Relationship remains even when it does not fully understand. Today the Holy Spirit is asking the same question: “Where are you going to find refreshment?” Who is feeding your soul? Who occupies the first place in your heart? Where do you run when you feel empty, wounded, or disappointed? Because there are places that numb the pain… but only Christ truly sets free. There are voices that entertain… but only Jesus has the words of eternal life. Maybe you are spiritually tired. Maybe you have fought too many battles. Maybe you feel drained inside. But the Lord is inviting you back into His presence — not into cold religion, but into a living encounter with Him. Jesus is not merely a theological answer: He is the refreshment of the thirsty soul. And the true believer, even through tears, continues to say: “Lord… to whom shall we go? The Covenant of Salt: When God Establishes Something, No One Can Cancel It “Should you not know that the LORD God of Israel gave the dominion over Israel to David forever, to him and his sons, by a covenant of salt?” — 2 Chronicles 13:5 (NKJV) Abijah, king of Judah, stood before an army far greater than his own. Humanly speaking, the situation looked hopeless. Yet in the middle of the battle he remembered a powerful spiritual truth: God had made a “covenant of salt” with David. It was not a simple human agreement. It was not a fragile promise. It was a holy, stable, incorruptible, and everlasting covenant. In the Bible, salt speaks of preservation. It keeps things from corruption. And this reveals something about the character of God: what God establishes in the Spirit cannot be corrupted by hell, circumstances, or the unfaithfulness of men. Abijah was essentially declaring: “We are not fighting with swords alone. Behind us stands a divine covenant.” This is also a prophetic word for today. There are moments when believers look at their lives and see opposition everywhere: spiritual battles, closed doors, attacks from the enemy, inward pressure, situations that seem too great. But the Lord reminds His people: “I am a covenant-keeping God.” When God calls someone, He does not do it casually. When He anoints, He is serious. When He promises, He watches over His word to fulfill it. The enemy constantly tries to make you forget the covenant: he wants to convince you that God has abandoned you, he wants to corrupt your consecration, he wants to lead you into compromise, he wants to steal the “salt” of your spiritual life. That is why Jesus said: “You are the salt of the earth” — Matthew 5:13 Salt gives flavor, but above all it preserves. A believer filled with the Holy Spirit preserves holiness in a corrupted generation. They carry the presence of God where there is spiritual death. But there is another deep aspect: salt burns on wounds. Sometimes the Holy Spirit allows painful processes to purify the heart. God is not destroying His people; He is preserving the covenant. He is removing whatever corrupts the anointing. The “covenant of salt” with David finds its perfect fulfillment in Jesus Christ, the Son of David. In Christ we have an eternal covenant sealed not with natural salt, but with His precious blood. And what Christ has sealed, no demon can cancel. Maybe today you feel weak in battle. Remember: your strength is not in numbers, not in resources, not in human ability. Your security is in the covenant. God does not forget those who belong to Him. God does not break His covenant. Solomon: From the Glory of Wisdom to the Decline of Compromise “Now, O LORD my God, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David… Give to Your servant wisdom and knowledge…” — 2 Chronicles 1:8-10 (NKJV) “Solomon made a treaty with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and married Pharaoh’s daughter…” — 1 Kings 3:1 “For his wives turned his heart after other gods.” — 1 Kings 11:4 The life of Solomon is one of the most powerful and tragic pictures in Scripture. No man received such a manifestation of wisdom as he did. At the highest point of his spirituality, Solomon did not ask for gold, power, or revenge — he asked for wisdom to lead the people of God. That desire touched the heart of the Lord. At the beginning, Solomon had a sensitive heart. He loved God, offered sacrifices, and sought the presence of the LORD. The glory of God filled the temple during his reign. It was a season of spiritual splendor, peace, and divine manifestation. But while the fire of God was burning, a small compromise began to enter his life. His marriage to Pharaoh’s daughter did not initially appear as open rebellion. It may even have seemed harmless — perhaps strategic, politically wise, useful. But spiritually, it represented a connection with Egypt — a symbol of the world, bondage, and a system separated from God. And this is how compromise works: it rarely enters as a sudden great fall. It comes as something acceptable, tolerable, even reasonable. Solomon still had enough discernment to say: “Because the places to which the ark of the LORD has come are holy.” — 2 Chronicles 8:11 He recognized the holiness of God’s presence… but he had not yet fully understood that God does not only desire holy places — He desires holy hearts. Many believers make the same mistake today. They honor the presence of God in church, during worship, and in prayer… yet allow hidden compromises in private life. Solomon separated Pharaoh’s daughter from the city of David, but he never fully separated his heart from the influence of Egypt. And whatever is not spiritually cut off will eventually grow. One small compromise opened the door to many others. What began as a political alliance became spiritual contamination. Over time Solomon lowered his moral and spiritual standards more and more. The man who built the temple eventually built altars for other gods. The man who once prayed for wisdom ultimately lost spiritual discernment. This is the danger of no longer guarding the heart. In Pentecostal circles, much is said about anointing, glory, and power, but Solomon’s life reminds us that no spiritual experience can replace daily holiness. A person may carry a great calling and still slowly begin to cool spiritually within. Spiritual decline rarely happens in one day. It is a progression of small compromises: a door left open; a compromise justified; a voice of God ignored; a consecration neglected. Until the heart no longer remains sensitive. The tragedy of Solomon was not the absence of glory, but that a man so close to the presence of God allowed influences into his life that slowly extinguished the fire in his heart. Today the Holy Spirit is calling the Church back to true consecration. It is not enough to begin in the Spirit; we must continue in the Spirit. It is not enough to have had powerful encounters with God; we must guard our hearts daily. GOD HIMSELF IS YOUR STRENGTH Psalms 18:39 NKJV “For You have armed me with strength for the battle; You have subdued under me those who rose up against me.” This is a powerful testimony from David. He clearly shows that victory does not begin with human ability. It begins with God. David does not say I trained myself or I found my own strength. He says God armed him with strength. This means strength is a gift from God. It is given, not produced by human effort. When God gives strength, it is not weak or temporary. It is strength designed for battle and for victory. The verse also shows two clear actions of God. First, God gives strength. Second, God subdues the enemies. David did not defeat his enemies by himself. God worked on his behalf. This teaches us that God does not only prepare us for the battle but also controls the outcome of the battle. Victory is not by power or wisdom but by God who fights for His people. This shows that strength is something God gives. We do not generate it ourselves. God equips His people for victory. When God equips you, you are not lacking anything. You may feel weak in yourself, but God’s strength covers your weakness. That is why believers can stand firm even in difficult seasons. God Himself becomes their strength. Our fight is not carnal. It is spiritual. When you fight spiritually, God will manifest your victory in the physical world. Prayer, faith, obedience, and trust in God are spiritual weapons. When these are in place, God works behind the scenes. He changes hearts, situations, and outcomes in ways we cannot see. Now the problem is that many of us see only the physical side of our battles. We are driven by feelings and emotions. We begin to fight people who oppose us. When we do this, we interfere with God’s process. People are not the real enemy. God never asked us to fight in the flesh. He asked us to trust Him. The verse says, “You have armed me with strength.” This is spiritual strength. Then it says, “You have subdued under me those who rose up against me.” It is God who subdues your enemies under you. Your role is to pray and trust. God’s role is to fight. Sometimes we think God is late. Sometimes we think we must help Him. But God is never late. He is always on time. He will bring down every enemy one by one, in His perfect way.
