Honestly, I had bright expectations for 2018, but the year had other things in mind, but I’ll still call this year a blessing. It taught me so much: - There were days I was stressed to the point where I couldn’t eat, not because I didn’t have time, but because of the cognitive load. - This year was filled with unlearning things that no longer align with the person I want to become. - It was a year where I tried to put myself first in my decisions. - Instead of constantly wondering whether people liked me and trying my best to please everyone, I started asking myself whether I actually liked them. - I became much freer to express my thoughts, opinions, and feelings, and I think that alone is a pretty big change. - It’s you for you. No one is coming to save you, so learn to take responsibility for your actions. - Be humble, because you never know what life is going to throw at you. - I’m not where I want to be yet, and I have to admit that’s partly on me. I have more work to do, and hopefully, this year, I’ll actually do it. Wishing each and every one of you a very, very happy New Year. I hope this year is kinder to you, teaches you what you need to learn, and takes you closer to the person you’re trying to become. Here’s to a better year 🥂
