BENEFIT: If fasting the day of 'Arafah expiates two years worth of sins; the previous and the coming, why do we need to fast 'Ashura?
Imam An-Nawawi rahimahullah said:
If someone said: “If wudhu expiates [sins], what does prayer expiate? And if prayer expiates [sins], what will Jumu'ah and Ramdhan expiate? Similarly, fasting the day of 'Arafah is an expiation for two years, while fasting the day of 'Ashura is an expiation for one year?” The answer is as the scholars have mentioned: that each of the aforementioned is an independent form of expiation; so if any minor sins are present it will expiate it, but if there are no minor or major sins to expiate, a person will have good deeds recorded for them and they will be raised in ranks; such is the case with those prayers, fasting, ablution and other acts of worship performed by the Prophets, the righteous, and the young children. And in the case where there is one or more major sin present, without the presence of any minor sins, then we hope that it will reduce the major sin. [Al-Majmoo’ (6/432)]

How Muslims Should Approach the Days of Tasu‘a and ‘Ashura
Question:
A brother asks: “Tomorrow, Wednesday, is the day of Tasu‘a, and Thursday is the day of ‘Ashura. What should be done on these days?”
Sheikh Rashad Adh-Dhali'ee hafidhahullah:
These days are simply days like other days. What has been prescribed for us is to fast on them. We should neither celebrate them like the Jews celebrate, nor mourn them like the Rafidah do. The Jews take these days as a festival. They adorn their women with jewellery, wear fine clothing, and beautify themselves because it is the day when Allah saved Musa and destroyed Fir'awn. The Rafidah, however, make these days days of sadness, crying, and mourning gatherings, claiming that they are weeping for Husayn because he was killed during these days. Muslims do neither of these things. Rather, what is prescribed for them is to fast on these days, as the Prophet ﷺ said: “We are more deserving of Musa than they are.” We are more deserving of Musa than the Jews, who in reality rejected him — because if they had truly believed in him, they would have believed in Muhammad ﷺ. But they rejected him and what he called to. Therefore, Muslims are more deserving of Musa than them. They fast these days as a way of thanking Allah, the Most High, who saved Musa and his people and destroyed Fir'awn and his people. They do not join the Rafidah in their actions — neither in their celebrations nor by attending their gatherings. Scholars, such as Shaykh Al-Islam (may Allah have mercy on him) in Iqtida’ As-Sirat Al-Mustaqim, warned that people should not participate in these invented festivals, even through buying and selling. Even sellers should not sell in the places where such gatherings take place, because this is considered helping them in these wrong actions and encouraging them to do them. Whoever provides them with food, drink, or accommodation is considered to be assisting them. What is prescribed, based on the evidence, is to fast these days. The Companions used to fast them and would train their children to fast as well. They would fast the day of ‘Ashura and get the children accustomed to fasting. Source: https://t.me/rshad11/19568

The Evil Result of Turning Away from Islamic Knowledge Sheikh Ibn Baz rahimahullah said: "فإن الإنسان إذا كان لا يحضر حلقات العلم، ولا يسمع الخطب، ولا يعتني بما ينقل عن أهل العلم، فإنه تزداد غفلته، وربما يقسو قلبه حتى يطبع عليه ويختم عليه فيكون من الغافلين." “Indeed, when a person does not attend circles of knowledge, does not listen to sermons, and does not pay attention to what is conveyed from the people of knowledge, his heedlessness increases. His heart may even become hard until it is sealed and stamped, and he becomes one of the heedless.” [Majmu‘ al-Fatawa (12/324)] https://t.me/madrasatunaa/383

Good Habits vs. Bad Habits If you study daily, over time, you'll become knowledgeable in ways that seem almost effortless. But if your habits involve checking WhatsApp statuses every five minutes, multitasking between TikTok and Instagram, you'll look back after five years and regret how you've spent your life. Time will have slipped through your fingers, leaving you with little to show for it. 📲 Forwarded https://t.me/madrasatunaa/381

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم الحمد لله رب العالمين، وأشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، وأشهد أن محمدا عبده ورسوله. About this channel This channel contains English lessons based o* the series "دروس جامع مسائل العقيدة الصحيحة" by Dr. Fayṣal bin Misfir az-Zināmī al-Wādiʿī. The process is as follows: • The original Arabic audio lessons are transcribed. • The material is translated into English. • The translated content is then presented and explained in English, with additional clarification and expansion where helpful. Because of this, the recordings here are not a direct word-for-word translation of the original audio, but rather English lessons based on and derived from the original series. Translation and presentation by ʿAbdurraḥmān bnu Mīhūb al-Qaddārī, with permission graciously granted by the author. Important: I am just a knowledge seeker conveying and explaining these lessons to an English audience to the best of my ability. May Allāh benefit us through these lessons and reward everyone involved. والحمد لله رب العالمين والله المستعان Original series: https://t.me/D_faisl Project page: https://arm-alqaddari.codeberg.page/compendiumCorrectCreed/ If you'd like to help: https://t.me/correctAqeedah/34 Old site I made for the Arabic series: https://t.me/D_faisl/2539 https://jamie-masail-aqida.codeberg.page Old site I made for the Arabic series: https://duroos-jmas.vercel.app/
