So yeah… that’s how all of this started - With just one click, only 30 minutes before the deadline.
I had no idea that one small decision would eventually take me beyond Ethiopia, from Africa to Asia, Europe, and beyond.
One opportunity led to another, and somewhere along the way, that single click turned into:

🥇 1st Place Winner - 2024–2025 Huawei Tech4Good African Regional Finals, Morocco 🇲🇦
🇷🇺 1st Ethiopian young innovator to participate in the prestigious Nizhny Novgorod Summer Institute for Young Scientists and Researchers in Russia
And also got the chance to be featured on international media like CGTN with our award-winning project, and many more international hackathons and innovation competitions along the way.
Until now, I've mostly shared the results. Now, I want to share the process.

Here, I'll share the competitions I've participated in and the stories behind them, how I find and apply for international opportunities, what helped me get selected for different programs, and of course, the mistakes and lessons I've picked up along the way.
And since I'm a Software Engineer, you'll also see the other side of my journey: things I'm building, startups, and whatever I'm currently cooking 👨💻.

I almost lost everything this year.
Not “stressed about deadlines” losing everything.
My dad. My family. Everything I’ve been building.
There were nights I genuinely didn’t know if RAVN would survive the month.
But my cofounder and I kept building anyway. Through the doubt, uncertainty, and nights when nothing seemed to work.
Today, I’m incredibly grateful to share that RAVN has been accepted into Antler.
$400K in funding, backed by one of the world’s leading venture builders, alongside companies like Lovable, Airalo, Reebelo, and Tactiq.
To everyone who watched us build this from the beginning, thank you. This wasn’t luck or a guarantee. We kept building long before there was anything to celebrate.
Most importantly, I’m grateful to God. He never left us.
We’ve come a long way.
We’re just getting started.
