Repost from Tea
“I watched life and wanted to be a part of it but found it painfully difficult and unfair.”
- The Dairy, Anaïs Nin
My love isn't yours, but I'll give if you ask
I've come now to know, I'm in love with your past
You're making me hurt, but I don't want to go
Everything's lies, and I should've known
My thoughts spark like wandering comets, bright then gone,
brief flames trembling against a silent dawn;
they blaze for a moment, then fade into night,
too distant, too fragile to share their light.
They drift through a sky vast, indifferent, wide,
their fire too quiet for worlds to collide;
lost in the dark where no echoes remain,
whispering brilliance dissolving in rain...
Yet for you,
something fierce comes alive,
a hidden star learning suddenly to survive;
each word that I speak breaks open the air,
igniting a sky that was never there.
Fragile comets become burning suns,
soft syllables rising like sacred ones;
and I, unseen by the watching world,
feel constellations within me unfurled.
For you, every whisper trembles bright,
a secret flame dressed in borrowed light;
and though to others my fire is small,
with you,
I am a star that burns through it all.

I want to fold myself into the air,
to drift beyond the weight of bones and breath,
to watch this life from somewhere softer,
where every heartbeat does not press so hard.
Hope comes like a pale, uncertain star,
shaking in the dark just long enough
to remind me of how far it is—
a light that trembles, never rests,
never promises what I need.
I reach, and still I remain,
rooted in this skin that aches,
tethered to the pulse of being,
while my mind hums with the longing
to dissolve, just for a moment,
into something lighter,
something not entirely myself.

"Shame is a darkened lake without horizon,
a hush of water closing over breath.
I wade in thinking I will endure,
but the depths unmake me gently.
It seeps through bone like winter,
slow, deliberate, mercilessly quiet —
no storm, no struggle,
only the weight of sinking unseen.
My voice dissolves into silt,
my reflections fracture into ghosts.
Above me, light wavers like forgiveness
I do not dare reach for.
I drown in increments,
a soft erasure repeated endlessly,
until even hope feels distant;
a shore I once imagined, but never touched."
