One interesting thing about some people is that they love you when you're good to them. As long as you make time for them, you matter. As long as you keep compromising, you're considered understanding. But the moment you choose yourself for once, say no, or grow tired of always being the one who understands and forgives, that's when you finally see their true colors. Some people were never in love with who you really are; they were in love with the version of you that benefited them. And when you're no longer that person, they distance themselves as if they've forgotten every good thing you've ever done. When some people leave your life, they don't take anything away from you; they simply prove that they never truly belonged in it in the first place.
