localhost has an IP Address
Computers don't actually understand the word localhost
I got you there right 😄😄
Now how will the computer sort this out
Now that you know the definition of localhost
It will interest you to know that there's a weird thing that always happen behind the scene let's check it out...
Hostname vs IP Address
IP address identifies where a device is on a network.
Hostname gives that device a readable name.
You can think of it like:
IP address = house address
Hostname = person's name
Now how do we differentiate IP address and Hostname
If you have been closely following my teachings you would want to ask this question
So let me explain
Similarly, instead of identifying a computer only by its IP address e.g 192.168.1.25
it can have a hostname such as "justice-phone"
So:
Hostname: justice-phone
IP address : 192.168.1.25
What Is a Hostname?
A hostname is simply a human-readable name given to a device on a network.
Think of it as the name of a computer, phone, or server.
Imagine a school has 500 students.
Instead of saying, Hey, student number 384!
You might say, Hey, Daniel!
Daniel is a name that is easier for humans to recognize.
You see when teaching never try to make the mistake of assuming that your listeners understand every details
That's why everything i teach you here can be well interpreted by those who are not even in the tech space
So take note of this
So logically base on this life examples I gave
Localhost is essentially a hostname that refers to your own computer
But what is hostname? 🤔
Technically i mean
localhost is a special hostname that always means (This very device I'm using)
Whether you're on:
a phone,
a laptop,
a desktop,
or a server,
localhost always points back to that same device that is it never points to another computer.
Let's check this scenario
Imagine This...
Suppose you live in a big house and one day, you want to send yourself a letter.
Instead of sending it through the post office, you simply walk to your own room and hand it to yourself.
That's exactly what localhost does.
Instead of sending data over the internet, your computer or phone sends it back to itself.
I do take note of little things that can be easily ignored...
Y'all should take note of this it is a life hack
The reason why 95% of my projects here on telegram and WhatsApp are still running is because of @goodnesstech
He has ensured my file are not just running but also protected without me paying a dime and this has been running for months
I remembered when he approached me, we talked about it and i said let me give it a try, since them I haven't regretted it
If you know me well you know i don't just develop stuffs i ensure all boxes are ticked that's why i can leave any of my project running for months nothing will happen the only thing that will need updating is api because i am not using my own custom api but thirty party apis
Just imagine after spending weeks and months on a particular project and lose it, this is what @goodnesstech had ensure it doesn't happen
I don't really know him facially but then he will be part of my future projects
I have alot of things planned out and i will ensure to carry him along when necessary
Summary:
Goodness Tech is the reason why i don't get worried about machine
This was a chat yesterday from one of those that subscribed my line yesterday
Lol
It was a deliberate act, just for me to check something but i was not wrong
NB:
This is not tied to anything here, I did what i did for a reason
Who can suggest core features i can implement
Because i will be pushing out update soon
