A little explanation here :
The song talks about someone who's coping with his grief -that is caused by a break up/death of someone- by living in a complete illusion where the lover is still alive, to the point where he can't recognize a dream from reality anymore. He describes himself in one of the verses as a "realist painter" who paints everything so realistically, making his illusions seem more real, and turning the actual grief (i want you to stay with me) into fake happiness (into a smile).
*i might not be right about the subject of the song, but this is how i understood it and there's also no official statement about it, so you're allowed to interpret it however you want
The colors in the small canvas are inverted since he is literally turning his real feelings to the opposite thing.
+ I didn't intend to turn the toshiya portrait into a song artwork, but a dear someone suggested this and I found this song of theirs that happened to fit the emotions onto toshiya's face. The inverted colors' idea is also his not mine, so, thank you so much for this 🧡🧡
