An Endless WinterI want a long winter, a sky heavy with clouds, drenching me with rain, watering my withered fields, and filling my dry riverbeds with water. I want a life filled with winter, writing, music, and a hot cup of tea to warm my cold heart.

They can play for hours at reinventing the world, but there comes a moment when the adults walk in and tell them it's time to wash their hands and get ready for dinner.
I don't want to talk politics political cinema with you, but let me say that though some people think filmmakers should seek to facilitate change, it seems to me that a truly influential film is one which reveals things that might previously have been obscure. If I can't alter someone's fate with a ninety-minute story, perhaps that person will at least think about something new after seeing one of my films, or experience unfamiliar feelings when reading a poem I wrote. Is a piece of wood pushed into the ground when a butterfly lands on it? Everything, regardless of size, has the potential to create an effect.”
